Sucks that he had to leave. But wow, such passion! Herb never cared enough about UNC to get dehydrated!

Yeah. Most likely from vomiting/diarrhea. Must have caught norovirus.

It is probably compounded by the fact that he was sick before the game and therefore wasn't getting enough fluids

The ironic thing is he might not have been dehydrated if he didn't wear the red jacket

"Ill Lowe Taken to Hospital
WEB ONLY: Coach Sidney Lowe's Pregame Conference Feb. 20 (unedited)

Posted: 50 minutes ago
Updated: 18 minutes ago
Chapel Hill — North Carolina State head basketball coach Sidney Lowe was taken to UNC Hospitals during the Wolfpack's matchup against North Carolina Wednesday night.

Family members reportedly were with Lowe as he was taken from the Dean Smith Center by ambulance. A witness said he was drenched with sweat and was given oxygen as he was wheeled out on a stretcher.

School spokeswoman Annabelle Vaughn said Lowe was taken to the hospital after becoming dehydrated and receiving treatment from team doctors and emergency officials. Assistant Monte Towe coached the team in the second half.

Lowe coached the first half wearing the same bright red jacket he wore earlier this month when the Wolfpack upset the Tar Heels 83-79 in Raleigh. He had reportedly suffered from flu-like symptoms prior to the game.

This is Lowe's first season as head coach of the Wolfpack. He had previously coached the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Vancouver Grizzlies. He also was a point guard on the 1983 basketball team at N.C. State that won a national title."

^this was 4 years ago though, so maybe they aren't all clueless now.

^Guys, you can't force fluids if you're just gonna keep throwing them up.

Most folks aviod putting anything in their stomach so as not to get sick if they're gonna be in a situation where that isn't appropriate. And then they get dehydrated.

He must have felt like absolute shit.

I know that when I have the flu I dont even want to get out of bed to walk to the bathroom...Sidney's a badass for even being at the game in the first half and keeping us in the game as much as we were

Once I saw Monte Towe as head coach I knew Lowe must be really sick...he wouldve had to be close to his deathbed to leave the State/UNC game at halftime with us down by 1

GET WELL SOON SIDNEY
