How can I write a batch file that will call an executable then call another executable without the need for the first process to finish? This is kind of like the & operator in *nix.

use the "start" command

like so:

start app1.exe
start app2.exe


may or may not work, i regularly use start /WAIT to run programs and have the cmd prompt wait until execution finishes
