Agree and disagree. I think Kobe could take over a series like Wade did against the Mavs...just don't know if he could do it for three whole series like you have to do if you're in the West. If they could get a favorable seed, Kidd definitely would have helped them getting through the first round or two somewhat easily.

And Kidd is actually playing good defense now. Parker blows at defense. Getting Kidd could have possibly moved them ahead of the Rockets and Spurs...and behind the Mavs and Suns (not necessarily in the standings...but in overall greatness in the West).

i mean he got a triple double a few nights ago...he still has skills...but his defense has fallen off in the sense that he is slower and less athletic, DUE TO AGE

Actually...Kidd has been a pretty below average defender for most of his career.

He's picked it up as of late and has become a pretty good defender.

i mean when players get older they usually get smarter but also lose athleticism

i just remember a game earlier this year versus Boston where Pierce hit the winning shot over Kidd...Kidd knew where he was supposed to be but just couldnt jump...granted Pierce has him by about 6 inches but still
