Considering there were so many great players (and managers) from the storied teams of the 80's (and very early 90's), Id have to say:

Jose Canseco or "The Eck". Eck's hair probably puts him over the top, but man Canseco really was the shiznit in his prime.

Love the thread. Longtime A's fanatic and I still am despite the ranks of Yanks/RedSox fans here.

I always liked Walter Weiss, don't know why, but he was a favorite of mine, and of course, the bash brothers before the whole mess got exposed. I'm just waiting for the Cincinatti Reds to give up their 1990 title because Chris Sabo was using a corked bat, go A's!

The Eck's sportscentury feature comes on ESPN Classic this afternoon at 4PM. He had a pretty interesting career between the alcolholism, his wife cheating on him with a teammate and his brother being in prison.
