Ok- so my speedometer stopped working a couple months back (yes, I know I should have gotten it fixed by now, but I just haven't had time). Now here is my question- My friend sent me a link to this article:
http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/05/gm-sued-over-inaccurate-speedometers/
and I was wondering what I should do now- should I take my truck in and have it fixed? I really don't think I should have to pay for it if this is gonna become a legal issue- Anyway, I figured I would see what yall have to say (oh, and I have an '04 Chevy Silverado that I bought new from the dealer). Also, anyone else had this problem? 3/5/2007 11:00:50 PM |

^^I don't know- I tried to find the paperwork on it, but couldn't- I'm thinking my father might have it since he cosigned for it and took most of the paper work with him (knowing I would probably have lost it myself back then) 3/6/2007 8:58:13 AM |

Honda just went through a similiar lawsuit with their odometers, they were putting on more miles then actually driven
they just extended the warranty mileages for all cars effected
wonder if the same company makes these same components 3/6/2007 9:20:31 AM |

Unfortunately I threw out the statement that got sent to me by Honda and didnt pay attention to what ones were affected specifically
Can do a search on the internet and should be able to find out info
but at the time I only had a 2005 Civic with a mechanical odometer and it was sent to me, cant imagine honda would send it out to anyone, even those not affected, but maybe 3/6/2007 10:27:25 AM |

Quote : | "A GM spokeswoman had no comment because GM had not yet seen the lawsuits. The damages being sought in the suits include the obvious replacement of the speedometers and reimbursement of repair fees, but also goes so far as to call for compensation for any speeding tickets or increased insurance fees for people caught speeding with one of the affected vehicles." |
that could really fuck gm up3/6/2007 1:57:04 PM |
