first one was entertaining.

and strengthened by the hilarious huge audience "AHH" setting.

I admit the first 1/3 I watched the trailer I thought "this doensn't look bad" but when the mutants were like 400000 times more mutant and insane than the first remake I lost interest. 1/10.

The first one was outrageously terrible, but that doesn't mean it wasn't entertaining. Regardless, I still can't wait for this one.

exactly. I enjoy bad but funnily bad movies, like this and the omen remake. at the latter, the audience was so loud with laughter and yells, one guy in his twenties went and got the fucking theater people who got cops to come stare into the crowd for about a minute.

The first one wasn't so bad it doesn't deserve a sequel

I liked a good bit of it, and some of the action scenes. A lot of people cry about bad horror films (me included), but this is a bit better than the rest of the garbage being pushed out. So, yes it's the lesser of two evils.

I will say it was in the upper tier of the horror movies of 2006, in a year of what... Pulse, Stay Alive, the Omen, etc?

although the descent was considerably better.

As far as remakes are concerned I thought it was very well done, better than the original I thought. Mission accomplished. Does not deserve a sequel however.

first one was decent for a horror flick, that said it's on the bottom end of average overall.... this second one looks to be a more cliche-ish horror movie... which is far worse...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455760/

the fact that the writer of the saw movies wrote this makes me sad.

Agreed. The original sucked ass. Wes Craven has always been a shitty filmmaker.

The original (remake) was pretty terrible, but I admit I thought it was funny/awesome when the pussy/hippie/nerdy dude flipped out and started killing the mutants.
