For all of us that are in different TV markets, post here when you have confirmed a station will carry the ACC tournement in HD. This is mainly relevant for different markets within the ACC area.
WRAL- Raleigh/Durham ESPN2 (Thursday/Friday) ESPN (Saturday/Sunday) - outside of Raycom/LF coverage area
Note- Duke v. NC State will be at 7 PM on ESPN2, regardless of geographic location.
I have attempted to contact WDCA (Washington, DC) but can't get a response either way. 3/7/2007 1:18:05 PM |

I believe Charlotte's WBTV (CBS) will cover it in HD, although Charlotte Time Warner does not yet have ESPN2HD for tomorrow night's State game
WBTV (CBS affiliate) - Charlotte NC
ESPN2HD - Charlotte - No ESPN2HD in Charlotte's Time Warner package] 3/7/2007 1:40:44 PM |

No ESPN2 HD either in Raleigh. No one at the call center even knows when they should even start guessing a time. 3/7/2007 2:16:36 PM |

And if you have any questions and concerns during the broadcast, a good place to go would be here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=652930&page=3. The user "SNF Mixer" is mixing sound for this broadcast (he used to do MNF and now does SNF obviously, as well as NASCAR) and will be checking in periodically to see how they are doing. 3/7/2007 8:00:23 PM |

1080i > 720p
Plus Raycom has no bottomline and no Dick Vitale. Ill take Raycom any day of the week now that they have HD. 3/8/2007 3:00:38 PM |

upon further review (i hadnt compared the two back-to-back when i made the assertion that espns is better) i will now say raycoms is better

^^^ wrong. Please pass go and do not collect dollars on the way to AVSForum.
720p >> 1080i for anything with lots of motion, making the progressive element more important than the interlaced.
Now for movies or pictures 1080i would take the cake but sports and video games? No sir.

I like how you bring up the AVSforum, yet youd be hard pressed to find anyone on there that would take, for example, the NFL on FOX or ESPN (720p) over the NFL on CBS (1080i). 3/8/2007 4:27:19 PM |

eh who cares
HD looks good either way
by the way, why do all sports broadcasts that show video from around the city or outside the arena reduce the framerate?

^^i think it depends on the broadcast / if it is a big enough company to have HD cameras outside?
^hopefully we can win tonight and at least play 1 game in HD!
or maybe the NIT will be in HD 3/8/2007 5:22:05 PM |
