i have a couple of those fuckers in my oil pan with sledge hammers, either that or i spun a main and took out the rod bearings on either side, fuckin shit ass 4L60E's and the 2-3 missed shifts, i pegged off the rev limiter for about 2 seconds and all hell broke loose

its like a $60 solenoid kit you put in the valvebody that fixes that problem...

or i could just put a $1200 4L80E in there, a solenoid won't fix a 200k mile tranny

nope, stretched rod bolts on #5 put some new ones in and replaced that bearing and let it roll, 2 hours and i'm back on the road, but all the bearing were into the copper and the cylinders had a hell of a groove worn in the bottom, so i can only imagine the top is worse, maybe a full rebuild and vortec supercharger this summer, gotta get the tranny fixed first though

seriously you drop the pan and valvebody, then the new solenoid is larger, you ream out the hole with a special tool and clean it out REALLY well then put it all back together. it could be done in an afternoon at griffins and they had the kit in stock.

needs clutches and bands and i have a lot of steel slivers in the pan anyway, that damn thing is shot, the fluid looks like #6 fuel oil and i'm afraid to change it
