We played our absolute hearts out. We lost to the best team in the country. Absolute clutch shot after clutch shot after clutch shot on both sides. In the end we just didn't have the legs to get that one last big shot.
I really can't believe how well the second half was played by both sides. It wasn't a case of either side losing really, just that UNC made all the plays to win.
It's kind of sad to know that we are certainly a NCAA caliber team with Atsur there and we lost it pretty much b/c of his injury..

Well, if we played like we did this weekend we certainly are. I've watched a lot of games this year and the way UNC played today was amazing. It really is a tribute to Sid that we kept it close because they played as well or better than they have all year long..3/11/2007 2:15:09 PM |

I am so proud of how our team played today, I hope it is a sign to come. I will shut up about Carolina deserving a number one seed or not, they finished the regular season as number one in the conference and became the ACC Champs in a tough league, If you want to argue that this league is the greatest then you have to argue that the champion is among the greatest teams in the country.

UNC will not make it far in the NCAAs, maybe Elite Eight at best. They couldn't put a 6-man team, that were playing 4 games in 4 days, away when they had to. They won't shoot 99% on FTs again, that saved them today. 3/11/2007 2:15:59 PM |

See, I think that is unfair to us. We played as good as any team in the country for a long time today. They just played a bit better. Right now there isn't a better player in the country than Brandon Costner..3/11/2007 2:17:30 PM |

^^^^Kevin Durant.
But Costner is the best in the ACC, hands down. Hell of a game today; had to sneak glimpses of it on ESPN 360 from work, and listen to douchebag coworkers cheer on Carolina. We left everything on the floor - <3 Sid and <3 this team.
And fuck Carolina and Lawson's bullshit.

Well Durant can make it up again but for the last 4 days (conf tourney) there hasn't been anyone better... Of course Durant and Oden are the two best players still... key words: RIGHT NOW.. as in in the conf tourneys

Congrats on a great tournament Pack, I am not congratulating Carolina because they had a cake walk to the finals and with their talent they should win the ACC and ACCT, we were the only team they played that put up a fight. They won they have 12 players that play big minutes. I am proud that the 9 that played for us all weekend gave all there hearts, but like being a State fan whenever I get my hopes up we get them crushed. I am excited about next season, and hope that we win the NIT if Uncle Davey can win it two years in a row so can we. Good Tournament guys. Go Pack! 3/11/2007 2:28:31 PM |

Congrats to the entire Wolfpack team. They played their hearts out these past 4 days and have shown what good coaching and proper teamwork can accomplish. Beating Duke, VA, and VA Tech all in 3 day period is a huge feat itself. It seems most people are forgetting that, choosing to focus on today's game. However, today's game was indeed one of the most exciting Wolfpack games I have ever watched. They played the way they were supposed to play, minus Grant helping UNC with turnovers left and right. No doubt that whatever tournament we get into will be exciting and no doubt that next season will be something to behold. Congratulations again!

I thought Lawson, Wright, and Co. were a little more competitve than they are, seriously beating a depleted team that plays 7 guys on their 4th day in a close game until the last minute and you're thrilled??? Hansblow was the only guy with the "act like you've been there" mentality when the game was in the bag for them. 3/11/2007 2:35:37 PM |

That took the Heels BEST effort today...they played nearly flawless basketball and we just taking all their punches. I mean 23-24 from the foul line?? That is unreal. We hung with a #1 seed who had more depth and more talent, and we did it on tired legs. We were one stop/a couple missed free throws away from a statistically impossible achievement.
I have never been so proud to be an NC State fan as I was today. 3/11/2007 2:40:56 PM |
