National Invitation Tournament

First Round

#6 NC State (18-15, 5-11 ACC)
at
#3 Drexel (23-8, 13-5 CAA)

Both teams were very close into making their way into the NCAA Tournament. Many thought Drexel should have been in the tournament. NC State was only 40 minutes away from the tournament. Drexel fell 7 points short to VCU in their conference championship. NC State will have to get ready quick and get rested up, it will be the 5th game in 6 days. One can only hope that NC State will not have the emotional let down of losing in the final moments of the ACC Tournament Championship. Oh and as they continue to play Lowe will remind them to.. "Don't give up. Don't ever give up."

Drexel regular season and conference tournament results:
11/15 FL Gulf Coast W 73-37

DirecTV ftw

i still don't understand why people who love sports haven't made the switch? it's the same price (if not cheaper) than TWC Digital and they offer ESPN2 HD, NFL Network HD, ESPNU and all of the FSNs and Comcasts

it's logical

So if we win and Ok State win, who wants to go with me on a road trip to Stillwater, Oklahoma and see the Pack play at one of the best college venues out there, in Historic Gallagher-Iba Arena?

But we didn't get the shaft. They had a better resume and a better RPI (they beat Syracuse on the road and Villanova on the road to show they can ball).. Yeah, we would have sold more tix but the NIT is run by the NCAA now and they do it based on the basketball you play from Game 1 to the last game, not on off the court things..

Because I have zero need for a satellite dish with 30 Spanish channels and 10 women's entertainment channels maybe? I'm waiting til I can get a la carte cable.

How many days are in-between the NIT games. It takes around 16-17 hours to drive from Charlotte all the way to Stillwater. Get about four people and climb into a car that gets good gas mileage (which I have ), and has cruise control (which I don't have ) pack up some snacks, some Red Bull, and some water, and just take turns driving. Start out at like 4 am, and hopefully get there by 10 pm or 11 pm. The tickets are first come first serve right, so just order them over the phone and pick them up at the ticket office when you get there.

Well our game is on March 13th, and we would at least get 2 days in between. It definitely would be a hard task to accomplish, but well worth it, especially if we could come out of there with a win. Getting our game on the 17th would be the most preferable day.

I just noticed that the dates for the rounds are listed on the top of the bracket. The second round games are on the 15th, 16th, 17th, and the 19th.

as i posted earlier i've had DirecTV for 8-10 years and dont have 30 spanish channels. They are available if you want them paco and 2 or 3 come standard automatically. But those are the same ones you get with TWC. As for women's channels your Oxygen, WE, and some other shit can sometimes come through when you get a late night Breakfast Club or other awesome movie.

And like was posted earlier...its the same price, so if you don't want to watch them don't turn to them.

notice I said if we win and Ok State win. with such a short amount of time in-between the games you have to start thinking about it sooner and garner interest from those that would like to go if it happens. if is the key word there.

The only time I can recall watching an NCSU game on satellite at a bar up here in heavy rain the reception went out. Sucked ass.

hah. 1200mi+ and over 18 hrs. That would suck in a straight shot. I almost died driving the 1000 miles to Shreveport, LA, but that was with 2 of us driving.

I have Directv at home in wilmington and the damn thing has a habit of going out when I don't want it to. There can be a monsoon outside and it'll stay on, but god forbid it just be sprinkling outside.

could it be out of the realm of possibility that the ncaa commission and nit commission colluded in matching us up against drexel? we're on a hot streak right now, and many feel drexel got snubbed from the ncaa's. if we beat drexel, then the ncaa folks can say, "see, drexel sucks".
