In order, from 1 (greatest accomplishment) to 10 (least accomplishment) I assume that the NCAA championship will be everyone's biggest accomplishment, so I left it off.

5. Sweet 16
6. ACC regular season championship
7. NCAA berth
8. ACC Tourney finals

ACC regular season championship means jack. The tourney champ is the conference champ. Ask Virginia how much it matters this season.

I'm having trouble deciding between ACC champs and Final Four. If I knew we would lose in the Final Four and NOT make it to the championship game, I'd choose ACC champs. But not knowing, as we obviously wouldn't, I'd probably pick a Final Four.

So there. That's my opinion and if you don't like it, then

This is kind of a after the season looking back kind of thing.

So looking back on the season, would you be happier with final four and loss, or ACC championship?

The NCAA berth/NIT champ thing is tough. For a single year (like now) I'd rather have an NIT champ than an NCAA berth. However, consecutive NCAA berths is a little better looked upon than consecutive NIT championships. (I think ? )

^^ ACC tourney title then. But it's important to note that looking ahead, I'd rather be in the Final Four with a chance at a national title.

It really depends on your program and conference I think.

If you're a school that doesn't generally make the NCAA tournament, then making it is more important than winning the NIT

But if you make the tournament 50-75% of the time, I might rather win the NIT than lose first round.

Unless like Packbacker was saying it keeps a nice string of tourney appearances togethere...

Also Id take a Conference CHampionship for State over a sweet 16 probably... but if you're a midmajor a sweet 16 puts your program on the map whereas a conference championship doesnt mean that much

The way I ranked them was basically what adds the most 'historical prestige' to your school?

Obviously, ACC tourney champ is up there. Final four as well. From the top down, I basically ranked them in what I thought was most 'memorable' to what won't matter 3 years from now

1. Final Four (harder)
2. ACC Tourney champions (memorable and with hardware)
3. Elite Eight (hard)
4. ACC regular season championship (no one will really remember this, but still tough)
5. Sweet 16 (Herb's zenith)
6. NIT championship (at least it's hardware)
7. NCAA berth (should be the norm)
8. ACC Tourney finals (ultimately, no hardware)
9. 20 Win Season (Hey herb. Pretty much the same as NCAA berth)
10. NIT Final Four (winning 3 in a row against non-NCAA teams -- ho hum)
