So WRAL's TV Schdule says this game (Maryland vs. Davidson) is in HD. They said it was in HD when the game came on, but its in 480i on my TV. The ACC Tourney looked great, what happened? Anyone getting this in 1080i?

"games in HD ... sort of

Danny Hooley, Staff Writer

Here's the good news for people with high-definition television: The NCAA games will be broadcast in HD on WRAL's digital tier.
Now the bad, or at least, confusing news: not the whole games, just parts of them. The games will be broadcast in their entirety on regular old WRAL, but the CBS feed in HD will jump to other NCAA Tournament games, depending on the action.

So be prepared to work that remote. WRAL programming director John Harris says he hopes this will only be an issue during the first two rounds this week. He said he hopes that by next week, when the field narrows, CBS will be able to provide constant HD feeds of NCAA games on WRAL."

Youre watching over the air apparently. WRAL drops to SD only for the first weekend of the tournament so they can broadcast 4 games at a time. Since they have a direct feed to TWC, they are able to provide HD feeds on TWC only.

However, there are constant HD feeds available according to AVS, of every game in fact...Im sure theyll be using them tonight for the Dook and Carolina games . Whats silly is CBS has to drop to SD everytime they switch (all that money in a new studio and they still have to do this, ridiculous).

Yeah just the noticed the proper switch, but wasnt that way this afternoon (or at least, they left it in SD with bars on the Butler/ODU game for awhile).

yeah i'm watching over the air. i thought a little while ago maybe there isn't enough bandwidth to get all 4 channels and HD, but i really don't know. the carolina game on now is still in 480i though. oh well, we'll see what happens saturday. i'm just glad that i can see every game and not have to pay for cable!

you won't see HD NCAA games over the air until next week.. I love my hdtv tuner card in my pc.. picking up the games over QAM.. Had to add the second HD channel manually though.
