I need some wheel boxes, to ship some 16x7 wheels. Anyone have anything laying around??

ideal boxes would be 16-17 in square by 8 in deep. Even 15-16in deep boxes would work, so I could double up. I dont know anywhere that sells 16in cubes...

just get some cardboard and cut out discs to attach on either side of the rim. cut out strips to wrap around the tire area too if you want, but they'll ship fine with just the discs to protect the front/rear and some tape.

there's a couple of big cardboard dumpsters up there at falls river, behind the dollar store. or go in dominos and ask, they get a few boxes a night. alot more on fri./sat.

do the cardboard disc thing then wrap the shit out of the outside with bubble wrap. leave enough room on the cardboard to stick all the mailing info

an actual box doesn't offer any extra protection. unless you're getting one bigger than the wheels and packing it with stuff. which it doesn't sound like you are from the sizes you want.

i've shipped/recieved a number of wheels that way with no problems. in fact i just recently recieved a set of wheels for my vette like that.

if you're that worried about it, add a second layer of cardboard and take out the available insurance on them.

yeah, i'm just sayin... i've done it both ways and never had an issue with the alternative if you can't find boxes. just takes a little more time/effort, especially if you want to cover the whole thing. i used to change wheels on my stuff like underwear.

Anyone know a good source to purchase boxes?

I'm going to need about 50 boxes in ~30"x40"x40" and there is no way I'm going to go dumpster diving trying to find that many. Would appreciate advice from anyone who has had to ship a lot of stuff in the past.

i just remembered i think the boxes from the centerlines on my duster might still be around here at my parent's house. i had put the old mags in them that i had on it before. i'll check tomorrow.

i went to a fedex store and just handed them 4 wheels/tires and they boxed them up for me and shipped them to Canada. Buyer paid for all of it....easiest route IMO
