I bought a bike from a guy in New Jersey about three weeks ago. Just got the title in and noticed that NJ titles don't have a place for a notary. Will NCDMV require the sellers signature to be notarized? 3/18/2007 9:22:29 PM |

Call DMV tomorrow and ask. They were very helpful when I called with questions for selling a car. The title you received may have been from a lien holder. 3/18/2007 9:44:49 PM |

The lien holder was Honda Finance. I payed the bike off, Honda sent the title to the owner, he signed it and sent it to me. 3/18/2007 9:50:32 PM |

no, you don't have to have it notarized if the state it came from doesn't require it.
knowing the dmv, some idiot might tell you that you have to but you don't.

My experience with the DMV is just ask different people until someone gives you the answer you want. 3/20/2007 4:13:47 PM |

you dont need it notarized to transfer a NJ title to you
you WILL need to have your title application (NC) notarized.. they can do that at the DMV for ~$3 (cash only) 3/20/2007 6:01:08 PM |
