if you're using a powerwasher.... just get some dish detergent & let it soak in really good (scrub it in if you want)... it does really well. (I've mostly used it for outside 'typical garage floor stains,' though... that way the rain is free ) 3/22/2007 3:20:37 PM |

gasoline for tough spots (make sure the place is well-ventilated and its not too close to the heater, lol) 3/22/2007 3:24:16 PM |

^^^ yeah... "purple stuff" works wonders, too. Your hands will start disintigrating if you work with it for to long

if the typical one is the concrete with pores, then its impossible.
unless someone has done it first hand. ive tried scrubbing, gas, powerwashing, brick and kitty litter... 3/22/2007 4:05:57 PM |

^^TSP works.
Seriously, get you some concrete cleaner in the powder form and use it LIBERALLY. I usually wet the surface well and then sprinkle the stuff heavily. Let it sit for a minute or two and then work in with a broom or a brush. Keep it wet for about a half hour (DO NOT LET DRY), and then rinse off with a jet of water (pressure washer is even better). 3/22/2007 4:46:49 PM |

fill a garden sprayer with muriatic acid and spray the floor with it, use an acid brush to rub it in and then spray down with a hose
^^its not that bad, you can even get the stuff on your hands and it doesnt even bother you that much

I have used some from of granulated concrete cleaner to clean up a heavily stained driveway. Wet, scrub it in with a good brush, wash off. Works quite well if you don't mind some scrubbing. 3/23/2007 1:01:21 AM |

yep, muratic acid ftw. works well on unsealed concrete, cinder blocks, etc.
if you've got any sort of sealer on it, one of the other methods mentioned will probably work fine.

if you use muratic acid, use vinegar to neutralize it after youve finished cleaning
otherwise it will keep eating away at the concrete
especially if you are preparing the floor for sealing 3/23/2007 7:17:23 AM |
