So I was using my laptop last night and in the middle of surfing TWW, a blue screen flashed for a fraction of a second and then the computer turne off. When trying to turn it back on it comes to a black screen and I get the errors: 'PXE-E61: media test failure, check cable.' and 'PXE-M0F: exiting broadcom PXE ROM. Operating System not Found'

Any ideas what could be going on? I suspect that it could be a hard drive issue but I have neither the expertise or experience with computers to base this idea on.

Either a bad/poorly connected hard drive or a dead CMOS battery which will loose your bios settings.

I'm sure you'll find the answer in that thread. Try the simple things first.
