I need to replace the DC port on the motherboard of my laptop. I have the replacement part I just need someone to take the old on off and put the new one on. I thought that I could just desolder off the old one and solder on the new one, but I'm not sure. Also I dont wanna mess up my computer. If anybody can help me or give me guidance it will be appreciated. I'll pay if you do it for me.

it's not that hard to do, the DC port is (thankfully) a big clunky thing compared to everything else on your mobo, so it should be relatively easy to fix.

the tricky part is the desoldering. there are a bunch of guides online on how to do it.

make sure your iron is a pretty low heat - you don't wanna fry your mobo.

also, don't keep the iron on there for more than 2-3 seconds at most.

besides that, it should be pretty simple.

I've got the tools if you need to borrow em, but I'm not gonna go there b/c I don't want to be responsible for someone else's stuff...but the tools are up for grabs.

I guess I'll attempt to do it myself. I was looking up prices for repair shops to do it and all I can find is $140+ which I'm not trying to spend on this old thing.
