the new bf2142 demo was pretty fun, UT07 will probably be pretty cool... till then you're pretty much stuck with an MMORPG (read WoW) or an early version of what UT07 will be... most of us on here are probably jaded with games by now (a.k.a. played too much so we think everything is bout the same )

Don't buy Rainbow Six Vegas, Ubisoft pretty much abandoned the PC gamers. Don't buy GRAW2 either, it's Ubisoft again.

Upcoming shooters: UT3 and Quake Wars.
new big mmo: Age of Conan (which I will get into the family & friends beta )

UT and Quake remakes just don't have that appeal anymore. I never played UT but old school Quake 1 and 2 were pretty fun. Now its all the same shit over and over again.

New in what timeframe? Medieval II: Total War and Company of Heroes are good. I also second Galactic Civilizations and Civ IV w/ Expansion as well. The Warhammer 40K RTS is also a lot of fun, and Supreme Commander is amazing if you have a machine that can handle it.

Yeah, I play Supreme commander on a Athlon64 3200/7950GT/2gb DDR400 and I get slowdown when there are more than about 500 units on the board.

I heard that F.E.A.R. was a pretty good FPS. I only played a demo version but liked what I saw. Don't know anything about Prey.

I liked Prey...runs on the Doom 3 engine. Some interesting twists like fighting on another plane if you die, leaving your body to use your spirit to get through areas, and the ability to change gravity orientation in rooms

if you have Steam, you can pick it up on there now

F.E.A.R is a pretty good PC game. There are so moments that will certainly cause the hair on the back of your neck to rise.
