His name is Rufio. He's very friendly, last seen at the Kensington Park Apartments on Avent Ferry last Thursday. Please help me find him. Thanks.

I've heard of them getting into walls/vents. You should listen really carefully when nobody is around the apartments (middle of day) just to see if you hear anything. 4/9/2007 5:43:11 PM |

Do you have any 'have-a-heart' traps?
Those things are the shit.
They run ~$80 at the pet store or at Lowes/etc. But I think it was at Harbor Freight that I saw them for half that.
Also, I know there's no replacement for a pet, but I do have a friend who just got two more male ferrets dropped off (makes 9 in her apartment now, but she's a vet student who has a big heart ;-)
So anyhow, they're looking for homes....
Let me know if there's anything else I can do. I'm not around there, but when I am, if I see a white ferret running around, you'll be the first person I email!
Great luck!
will. 4/9/2007 8:04:59 PM |

I saw the ferret. Professor Moody turned him back to normal after being fussed at by Professor McGonagall. </jokesfornerds> 4/9/2007 10:49:25 PM |

It's one of the humane traps you use to catch stuff. You put food it in and it snaps when the animal goes inside. How did he get lose?? It's really bad when ferrets get out b/c they kill a lot of local wildlife. 4/10/2007 12:54:46 PM |

Thanks.
This is actually my friend's ferret and I just found out that she's already been using one of those traps, so that's good. Unfortunately he's still missing. 4/10/2007 1:22:59 PM |

that's a cute ferrett. I dont really know much about ferretts, but I do know that they can get inside of walls and stuff. If he has his coller on, someone will likely try and find the owner. If not, they may keep him. He likely didnt go far...ferretts are very good at hiding. 4/10/2007 1:26:51 PM |

are ferrets clean animals? That thing is about a good size for a house animal. Him and my cat might not get along though... 4/10/2007 6:23:56 PM |

^^You have to give them weekly baths, the smell pretty bad even when descented, and they shit all over the house regardless of how well you think they're litter trained. 4/10/2007 7:38:22 PM |

My cats *love* to play with my ferret.
Ferrets really do not smell any worse than a dog in the house as long as you NEVER BATHE THEM unless absolutely necessary. Ferrets produce their own natural musky odor, even if fixed and descented. People mistakenly bathe them in order to get rid of the smell, not realizing that the smell will get worse with every bath. When you wash them, you strip away the natural oils in their coat, and they go into hyper stink drive in order to replace what you washed away.
Most of the smell doesn't really come from the ferret, but from the build up of their smell on their beds, hammocks, toys, and other bedding. So you have to keep up with your ferret laundry to keep them from being stink monsters.
And my ferret is 90% litter box trained and I am 10% ferret trained. You have to realize that ferrets are like small children and will not go off in search of the bathroom if they're really busy playing or exploring.

that is BS
I had a ferrett for 6 years and we bathed it every 3 weeks or so. Everyone used to brag about how our house didnt smell like a ferret and how he always seemed so clean. You are right about the laundry though, if you dont wash their bedding, cage, etc a bath will do no good. We used to do it all at once so when he has a clean bed, he would be clean also.
Good luck finding the little rat4/11/2007 7:43:51 AM |
