gettin an ol 50 model chevy truck and wanna do a rod rebuild, i dont have the time or the facilities to do the body and engine work myself although the paint and interior i would probably take hold of.

anyone know of any good shops around here that are into these kinds of things?

if i could afford to pay someone to build projects for me, i'd do it all day long. i much prefer to enjoy/use them over building. not that i don't enjoy working on stuff, i'd just be too lazy to if i could afford it.

as for local shops, there's no real dedicated rod shops around here anymore that i know of. most of the older guys that really knew what they were doing have either retired or died off. especially if you're considering any sort of custom body mods, etc.

i could reccomend a couple of good local performance shops that do great things with newer cars, but i don't know that they'd be able to do something like that justice.

always wanted a rod too but id probably buy one off someone elses like foo1 said.

takes a lot of research and access to equipment and good parts scavenging skills to do one of those right. and and assload of time on top of that. of cpurse you could put together a quick rat rod i seen a couple in wilmington that were a third mix of original scraps, a third modern donor parts and a third vAto zone boltons

hell yeah, i want a rat rod. i started collecting parts for one a while back. i've got a dropped front axle beam, suspension stuff, ford 8.8 rear, t5 transmission, a t-bucket steering box, etc.

i had a homebuilt t-bucket frame also, but i was too lazy to take it with me in one of my moves so i threw it in the construction debris dumpster that was there.
