They missed out on an excellent opportunity in the beginning of the video. Should have had a sample with this guy:

Looks like the most generic rap video ever.

Let's look at the checklist:

-Lamborghinis
-Escalades
-Women in bikinis
-Excessive slow motion
-Excessive upward and downward panning shots

Yep.

i've liked Lil Wayne for a long time but his style's just fucking weird now. I saw him on BET freestyling and i just cant hardly stand him now. His new style's just annoying to me.

i thought this would be closer to an allstar game. or maybe a throwback at least:

Sorry but most of the albums made in the last year was trash...And Weezy is hot...but too many people are overhyping this dude which leads me to not liking him that much.

^not arguing with you here but i got curious as to what the popular music is these days

Quote :
"As for genres, classical and soundtracks saw considerable bumps, rising 22.5% and 18.9%, respectively. Country was flat, and Christian/gospel rose 1.3%. The biggest-selling genre is rock at 170.1 million albums sold, but the genre was not tracked in 2005. R&B, at 117 million units sold, took a big hit, dropping 18.4% from the previous year. Rap sold 59.5 million units in 2006, falling 21%. "

TI, David Banner and Wayne I'll give you (though I've heard better from all three), but Akon, Fat Joe and Baby...um, no.

So then should rock, pop, and country go together too? Genres are defined for good reason. Rap is nowhere near R&B.

I never thought I'd see the day when Wayne became a respectable lyricist, but I gotta admit, he's RIDICULOUS now.

alot of rap is pop. and most pop is stolen and not bought anyway. hip hop is by far the #1 genre

look at the billboard hot 100. i check it every week. 34 of the top 50 tracks right now are rap hiphop or randb and its been that way for at least 5 years. randb is very different but hip hop theoretically and rap are usually intertiwined but many randb songs have somebody rapping for a little while just to have a bigger audience.

guys like usher justin timberlake rkelly are randb but can easily be grouped with rap because of all the songs they do with rappers so much that i just put them in the more general "hip hop" category.

hip hop is a more general label but its like a blend between the 2. artists like chris brown gwen stefani ciara furgie (beyonce?)

then you have more of a pure randb like robin thick omarion christina agulera

akons not a rapper but if were going to have one guy taking the last shot singing a rap hook right now its him.

i really don't see how you could be racist with music.

so i mean you could do

its usually hip hop + rand b grouped as the genre. you rarely see just rap or just randb anymore.

I watched Rap City the other day - which I used to watch fairly regularly back in the day - and to say that hip hop, and the direction it is going, is dying is an understatement

I know that the "dirty south" brought a whole new style to rap and somewhat brought it back to the popularity level it had in the 90s, but the rap acts now like Crime Mob, UNK, Yung Joc, Rich Boy, etc. etc. etc. are absolutely KILLING rap for me.

I guess rap is going the same way punk music went for me back in high school, I like the artists that made me love the genre, and pretty much only listen to new music when those artists put out new CDs (see: Nas, Jay-Z, Redman, Method Man...).

and I cant stand the "dance instruction songs" that every artist puts out now

I feel bad for the kids coming up now who only have the new "throw some D's on it" and "pop, lock and drop it" shit to base their knowledge of hip hop off of
