We get Michigan State, in the Izzone. surprisingly we are on ESPN, and not the only game on the first night. http://www.theacc.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/041607aac.html

well, people there do think we'll be 2 seeds, no surprise at the ESPN

[Edited on April 16, 2007 at 4:07 PM. Reason : lunardi has MSU as a #2 seed also ]

Since everyone hasn't declared to go pro or stay in college it's too early to make a prediction. But I'll do it anyway:

ACC 7 - Big Ten 4. The dominance continues.

Iowa over Wake
GT over Indiana
FSU over Minn
UVA over NW
Duke over Wisconson
Clemson over Purdue
NCSU over MSU
Illinois over UMD
Michigan over BC
OSU over UNC
VT over Penn St.

Man this will probably be our toughest opponent yet in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge. A couple of years ago we played a decent Iowa team, but normally we don't get the traditional Big 10 powers like MSU or Illinois.

I guess this means other people besides Joe Lunardi think we will be good next year (although I have no idea if Michigan State is supposed to be good next year).

^^ MSU will be pretty tough next year, much like the "traditional" MSU team. theyll have an advantage w/ their guard play, but well have the advantage in the front court. should be a toss-up. theyre recruiting class was loaded with some sick guards

Exactly

There's no way a team that made it to the Championship game could beat a team that got kicked out in the Elite 8.

No way in hell.

I think they need to rename the "ACC/Big Ten Challenge" to something else

Its not so much the "ACC/Big Ten" part I have a problem with...its more the "Challenge" part

On renaming the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, I'd say a good name would be "Big Ten Domination" or perhaps "The ACC Showing That They Are Obviously the Best Conference in America" This challenge has been going on for 8 years or so and the Big Ten has yet to win once. That's amazing.

an ACC Big East Challenge would be a lot more of a challenge imo, but we'd actually lose a few of these here and there

probably the fact that osu is gonna lose their seniors, along with most likely oden and conley, and maybe cook. unc returns 8 of 11 players

Finally, we get a top tier matchup in this thing...so tired of playing Purdue, Northwestern, and crappy Michigan teams. State vs State

Unless Oden and Conley are back.

Then I would guess OSU could be favored.

^I would rather that happen. Big 10 has never won this thing.

And how would they chose 12 of the 30 Big East teams to play?

We should probably have the ACC / SEC Challenge since those are the two best conferences

Big East should stick to overhyping their football national title chances

ITS SIMPLE....THE TOP 12 TEAMS FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR'S CONF. RECORD PLAY IN THE CHALLENGE....COACH K WAS THE FAGTHAT PUT A STOP TO IT YEARS AGOD....HE CLAIMED THEIR AGGRESSIVE STYLE COULD POTENTIALLY INJURE THEIR PLAYERS....

I ALSO THINK IT WOULD BE A MUCH BETTER SERIES THAN THE ONE WITH THE BIG TEN.....FOR FUCKS SAKE THE BIG TEN IS A LAUGHING STOCK....I WOULDN'T BE OPPOSED TO THE CHALLENGE WITH THE SEC BUT THE PROBLEM WITH THAT IS THAT THE SEC ONLY HAS A FEW PROGRAMS THAT ARE CONSISTENTLY GOOD...HOWEVER THIS YEAR WITH ALL THE TALENT IN THE SEC AND RISING PROGRAMS LIKE UT IT WOULD HAVE MADE SENSE

kindof like the big east?

although really, kindof like the acc as well.

v hey, i specifically included the acc.

[Edited on April 17, 2007 at 12:28 PM. Reason : bottom line is... 16 teams is not a conference.]

It was both sides actually. K and DeanO didn't like the physical play of the Big East and Tranghese didn't like the inflexible schedules.

It was very competitive too. The three years were 1-1-1 with each side having the EXACT same amount of wins.

^ kind of like every conference, including the ACC..

[Edited on April 17, 2007 at 12:29 PM. Reason : plus it started UConn's dominance of Duke --- 5 straight Ws]

REGARDLESS OF WHICH CONFERENCE YOU LIKE LOOK AT THE PROJECTED MATCHUPS FOR NEXT YEAR.....I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS:

Georgetown - UNC
Pittsburgh - UVA
Louisville - Maryland
Notre Dame - Virginia Tech
Marquette - Boston College
Syracuse - Duke
West Virginia - Georgia Tech
Villanova - Clemson
DePaul - Florida State
Providence - NC State
St. John's - Wake Forest
Connecticut - Miami

[Edited on April 17, 2007 at 1:20 PM. Reason : UCONN MIAMI MATCHUP WOULD PROBABLY SUCK]

THAT MUST MEAN THEY ARE GONNA BE AWFUL AGAIN THIS YEAR! LETS IGNORE THE FACT THAT THEY ONLY HAVE 1 PLAYER LEAVING, AND HE BARELY EVEN PLAYED DURING THE REGULAR SEASON. LETS ALSO IGNORE THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE A TOP 10 RECRUITING CLASS COMING IN AS WELL AS A COUPLE OF HERALDED TRANSFERS.

OMG A SPIDA! IHATESPIDA!

haha spida, you shouldnt post til you get some knowledge, but here i'll help you out

atsur is being replaced by 2 pg's next year, and then a 3rd after first semester... and as far as the 'pace' atsur could control, it won't matter what pace we play at next year with the depth we can bring out
