I've decided I want a good head unit with a USB port to replace my Pioneer. Preferably a front USB port, as I like the idea of plugging in my jump drive every time my music tastes change...

Would like to have 20+w RMS, and at least one set of preouts.

This Clarion any good?

I'd rather have a better display, but apparently no one else wants something like this.

I only know of 3 or 4 HU that have USB inputs, but not off the top of my head. Clarion does produce some quality units though. The positive of these, is you can get a 2 gig jump drive for your HU.

I used to have an old Clarion head unit and it worked great. No problems with them. The only complaint is that most of their units seem very very bland. Alpines are also good, but they tend to be more expensive with similar features that Jvc or clarion has to offer.

i have a walmart one that takes USB and memory cards (SD and MMC) as well as cd's with mp3 and WMA. paid 75 bucks for it brand new.

the only issues i have with it is that it needs the jump drive to be formatted to fat32 and not NTFS which is default file system for many of these things i think. also it does not have a simple foler up/down buttons wtf. it has 10 songs up and down instead and folder scroll but it takes 3 button operations to get to folder scroll function.

2 sets of preouts and front 1/4 in ch auxilary in

people hate on wal-mart but you cant beat the features for the price.

i had the old version of this...
they came up with a better display so you don't need the sexy lady talking to you to navigate anymore and they got rid of her
