People up here don't like black quarter backs who run and pass the ball, so screw 'em both.

Culpepper played poorly at the start of 2005 and never statistically recovered due to injury. The injury lingered into 2006 - he was rushed back from a holy triad injury by an overbearing coach, which should NEVER happen - so it confuses me somewhat that this topic is being discussed. Don't forget that Culpepper STILL has a career 64% completion percentage; his best season came with Randy Moss not even having the second-most catches. Culpepper was two dozen <10-yard TD passes from Peyton Manning away from being an MVP. And the guy was an effective scrambler... it's not that hard to believe that Culpepper was once a better quarterback than Vick. He may not be now, but don't think that tearing the major knee ligaments all at once doesn't factor in to his near-demise. Vick and his like 26 percent career completion percentage would be utterly useless if he had a similar injury.

Hmmm which one of these QBs had Jamal Anderson carrying the ball 30+ times a game and over 400+ times that season. Oh yeah that was Vick and obviously he "took" his team to the Super Bowl.

Vick is not a great QB, he can be great at times, but overall he is just average. Culpepper for a few years was one of the Top 3 QBs in the league. Vick will never be able to make that claim.

Ugh

Vick's never been to the superbowl. Did I miss a year or something. The Falcon's did in 1998, but it was pre-vick.

Culpepper did go to the NFC championship game with the vikings. 2001 I think.

Culpepper was around before Vick you idiot. I guess Thomas Jones is better than Emmit Smith since Smith is also not in the league anymore.

I really wish the Falcons would have turned him into a RB/WR and put Schaub at QB. Hell, it might not work, but they should have atleast seen what it could have produced.

Culpepper has actually rushed for double digit touchdowns in a season, unlike Vick

More importantly from a QB standpoint though, Culpepper has always had a completion percentage of greater than 60%

Vick on the other hand has NEVER had completion percentage of at least 60%

Why would you even mention rushing stats for a QB? According to all the Vick haters, anything rushing by a QB is pointless no matter how good it is.

if you read it...then you'd realize how stupid of a thought that is. Culpepper in his prime was much better than Vick.

Has DC ever done anything without Moss to throw to??? Has he? Please do tell. NOOOO He hasn't. Without Moss CP has been pure shit. And one of the main excuses about how you Vick haters said he would never be good was that he would get hurt and miss time. Well it seems DCs career is over via injury. At this point Vick is having the better career as far as stats go. Most rushing yards via QB, taking his team to the NFC championship, and his career hasn't been defined by one player. Its no secret how CPs career went to shit once Moss left. Lets just leave it at that. CP=Moss.....Vick=Vick

Moss MADE Culpepper

Thats why Moss has had so much success in Oakland

Quote :
"Most rushing yards via QB"

Culpepper has rushed for more TDs in a season...last time I checked, TDs go on the scoreboard but yards don't

whats funny though is Moss' completion percentage (in 8 career pass attempts) is 50% and Vick's is 53.8%

Maybe Moss is a better QB than Vick

Quote :
"I guess if you pretend that Culpepper and Cunningham are the same person that's true"

I guess if you pretend that Cunningham and McNabb are the same person that's true

I'd take McNabb over Vick as well

BTW

Ladainian Tomlinson career passing: 7/10 (70%)...6 TD...0 INT

So Moss is a better QB because he has a better completion %?? Sure that makes sense. And I love how all you VIck haters keep bringing up rushing stats for CP when OVER and OVER again you preach and preach about how rusing stats....TDs and YDS......dont matter for a QB, because a QB is ONLY supposed to pass, even though the defenition of a QB mentions NOT one word about passing. But yet yo will knock a QB when they lack in passing stats, yet praise another player/qb with the rushing stats. Its so pathetic. I lawled

i was joking about the randy moss being a better qb than vick

the only reason i'm praising daunte's rushing abilities is because thats all vick apologists can comment on...how well he runs...well i'm just showing you that daunte also runs, for more scores btw...oh yeah and he can actually pass

holler when Vick puts up a season like Daunte's 2004 campaign

69.2% completion rating
4717 passing yards
39 TDs
11 INTs
110.9 QB Rating

or just holler when vick finally passes 60% for a whole season
or when he finally passes for 3500 yards in a season
or when he finally throws 25 TDs in a season
or when he finally has a QB rating of 90

I am still waiting for someone, ANYONE, to show me here it says part of a QBs role is to "THROW" the ball.

^ that is a ridiculous statement and you know it

v
Quote :
"but somehow he cant figure out how to pass it at less than 100mph"

for serious. he just slings it, the throws are too hard to catch like you can from basically any other qb in the league, b/c vick has no touch. that's not the fault of everyone who plays wide receiver, that's vick's fault.

[Edited on April 20, 2007 at 1:39 AM. Reason : he's good at what he does... but what he does doesn't win too many games in the nfl.]

well first off, in that 2004 season that vick wishes he could partially sniff, randy "i make culpepper" moss only had 49 catches...culpepper completed 379 passes that season...so apparently moss didnt make culpepper on 320 completed passes that year

also vick apologists have been saying for YEARS "get vick some receivers"...and atlanta has drafted receivers and gotten them in free agency...but somehow he cant figure out how to pass it at less than 100mph...he has some pretty good luck with one of the best TEs in the game though

^^Culpepper scored more points both passing AND rushing than Vick...so put the typical role of a QB aside...both of these guys are/were combo QBs...scramblers...its just one of them could actually pass

Hell, out of Daunte's 39 TD passes that year, Moss caught 13 of those...thats 26 TD passes that Culpepper threw to receivers other than Moss...26 passing TDs not to Moss...Vick has never thrown more than 20 TDs in a season...and he has never had more than 24 TOTAL TDS IN A SEASON (RUSHING + PASSING)
