what has to happen for a truck to go into limp home mode? does it happen if you ignore the CEL for a certain amount of time, or are there just certain codes that put it into limp mode.

nope, nothing specifically. alot of times on a gas vehicle, it's transmission related. it can be other things though, like temp, fuel pressure, etc.

Limp mode happens when the computer loses an important sensor entirely, or is receiving inputs that are way out of range. I don't know exactly what would do it, so post the codes if you ever find out. Still working at pool pros?

auto zone will pull codes for free if you want to know what specifically caused it.

well he just disconnected the battery to clear it so he could drive back, so its not showing a code now

^^yeah, had an inspection with your dad today actually. im working under the guy that has barb and marks old position and helping out with the maintenance staff, basically a field manager type position for the unstaffed side. im gonna stick around for awhile and then go into pool construction.

this guy has some great designs (but a horrible reputation for customer service). he does top end premium stuff, most of the big names in the area have bowman pools. the picture with the fire pit is from the cowhers pool, they have a pretty sweet setup.

most of his pools start at about $100k

89+ Rx-7 or Rx-8 will go into limp mode if their oil metering pump (which injects oil to lubricate apex seals) fails
