goes by hours.

looks it up.

its around $2000 during the regular semester without room and board or books for full time instate.

summer is usually a waste of time because you pay a lot for a pe and health class that you could of taken during the semester for free

it's 160 dollars per hour for NC residents, so a 3hr class will run you 480.

Engrish much?

If you can't find out this information on your own, you need to drop out of college right now.
^Not a complete answer. Penzoate, answers like this are why you need to learn to do shit on your own, and not ask a messageboard full of asshats to do your legwork for you.

there are many different ways to do the same thing, with no one way being right or better... personally,, the internet was used to find out how much summer school cost.

You're only paying a small fraction of the true cost of your education.

Given that Lutra voluntarily came to NCSU, knowing the difference between in-state tuition and out-of-state tuition...she has absolutely no right to bitch about the cost of tuition.

My god you people are worse than a starving mouse on a hunk of cheese. He said NC State was cheap, I was pointing out that it wasn't always cheap. And I'm here because we had been put under the impression that I could attain in-state status after a year. Well, that turned out to be a pipe dream. Anywho, my experience here by the time I graduate will have cost $125,000. I'd say that's pretty darn close. At the least I could buy a few Lotus's.

^ i didn't know you were out of state.

but how come you didn't get any financial aid, whether loans or grants?

and yeah, had you gone to a private university, it would cost you a lot more.

^^^why were you not able to?

"North Carolina law (G.S. 116-143.1) requires that "To qualify for instate tuition a legal resident must have maintained his domicile in North Carolina for at least the 12 months immediately prior to his classification as a resident for tuition purposes.""

If you had an apartment and made that your "permanant address" and were thus no longer a resident of the other state, then you should have been able to get instate tuition for your 3rd semester.

They make you "prove" that you aren't only here for your education. It's really hard to do.

^^there are lots of people that do it

Quote :
" B. The student must also show a bona fide or "good faith" intention of staying in the State permanently or at least for an indefinite amount of time (GS 116-143.1 (c)). This is a more difficult test than physical presence, but the key element is that the student plans to establish permanent residency in N.C. and is not in North Carolina only to go to school.

To determine a student’s intentions, all relevant factors must be evaluated, especially a student’s conduct. Several actions, if done in North Carolina, will be used as indicators of intent to remain in the State. The following acts are examples of what may serve as evidence of residentiary intent:

1. Paying North Carolina state taxes;

2. Having a North Carolina driver’s license;

3. Having one’s car registered and licensed in the State;

4. Voter registration;

5. Owning a house or land in N.C.;

6. Employment in N.C.;

7. Having bank accounts in the State;

8. Spending substantial time in the State during vacations and holidays;

9. Maintaining social and business relations in the State;

10. Parents are residents in the State (will be used as a factor even if the student is over 18-years old (GS 116-143.1(e));

11. Serving on jury duty.

Factors generally unfavorable to students attempting to establish in-state residency include:

1. Student does any of the activities listed above in another state (such as maintaining a driver’s license in another state, owning a house in another state, etc.);

2. Student first begins living in North Carolina only after enrolling in a public university;

3. Student lives in the State only while in school and returns to another state during vacations and holidays;

4. A parent or someone outside North Carolina provides financial support;

5. Student leaves permanent possessions in another state and only brings to North Carolina what is necessary for temporary stay."

If you are over 18 . . . "move" here and change your shit to NC.

anyways . . . this threads not even about this. So, whatever

yep, it's a huge pain here. my brother wants to do it for Alabama's Law school (i dunno how/if that works for law school tho) but i pretty much told him he could try but not to depend on it....

I think he'd rather go to WF tho... but they aren't throwing money at him.
