i heard the lead singer play "The Star Spangled Banner" at a Supersonics-Heat game in seattle a couple years ago.
it was fucking insane. i don't think i'll ever hear a harmonica played like that again and the only version of TSSB i can think that beats it is Hendrix's version he played at woodstock.

Last album or two theres been a significant reduction of the harmonica, i like it personally but if thats your hook it might not be the most commercially safe move 4/20/2007 12:17:33 AM |

Unfortunately, Popper's had a lot of problems:
Quote : | "Popper formed Blues Traveler in Princeton, New Jersey in 1987 and the blues-rock band accumulated a devoted following and won a 1996 Grammy Award for 'Run-around.' But the diabetic was plagued by compulsive overeating and suffered a near-fatal heart attack in 1999 that required an emergency angioplasty. He later underwent gastric bypass surgery and lost a lot of weight and, to a large degree, fans." |
And this on March 6, 2007:
Quote : | "The singer/songwriter/musician was arrested by Washington State Police on Tuesday afternoon after they said that the black Mercedes SUV he was riding in was clocked at 179 kilometres per hour [111.225443 miles per hour] on Interstate 90. The vehicle is owned by Popper, but it was being driven by Brian Gourgeois." |

I didn't even know they were in the area. Them prior to "Truth Be Told" are my favorite band. After that, they're pretty much dead to me. 4/20/2007 1:44:06 AM |

it is awesome, fits like 300 people at the most. get there early and there is a table with "seat savers" on it, just fill it out and put it on whatever seat you like and it will be saved for the whole show, its house rules, and if anyone takes your seat they are kicked out. to me it is the best venue in charlotte. 4/20/2007 3:14:35 PM |

Lol at people who would stop being fans because he lost weight.
Reminds me of when that guy Will Sasso who was on Mad TV lost all that weight, and came back for a guest appearance. They did a sketch where nothing he did was funny anymore because he wasn't the funny fat guy.
