Sure wasn't expecting that. Cro Cop damn near got his head kicked off his body and all Rogan can keep saying is some shit about his leg or ankle might be hurt. I believe this guy can beat Randy for sure, although I won't be pulling for him. All in all a pretty disappointing event honestly.

for being free and having no title fights, i thought it was a damn good event. only boring fight was arlovski

bisping and gonzaga wins were both impressive if not long fights

i dont know why arlovski decided to shell up again

i really figured herb dean's warning would make him push the action...but all i saw were classic stalling techniques and half assed leg kicks attempts that werent meant to land

i am disappointed in the arlovski ive seen tonight, and his postfight remarks dont make it seem like he gave a damn

I honestly expected the fight overall to be a much better one between Biping and Elvis...and yeah, the Arlovski fight was hard to sit through. So I was a little let down with both the first fights while the last one while it had a crazy ending, was one round. By the way, was the event suppossedly shown live?

no

the event was over about 30 mins before spike aired it (in the UK)

i came in right after bisping reversed the RNC and pounded sinosic out, i really wanted sinosic to have a good showing but it doesnt look like he did

the arlovski i saw tonight would get absolutely wrecked by cro cop and gonzaga and any of the other top contenders for HW who actually push the action and dont stand back like a bitch. A few more fights like that and I would bet that the UFC will back off of him big time. They dont want to have shitty cards as much as us

Ok that makes sense, I actually was just checking out the other fights on the card through the website and noticed they actually had results already posted for the fights when spike was just showing it. Yeah, Arlovski was pretty boring tonight...nasty leg kicks but he didn't take any advantage. Seemed like he was way too concerned with not getting on the ground. And I agree about hoping elvis would have a good showing, but he really got destroyed from the very beginning...Bisping might be the real deal.

Kong was absolutely nasty with the striking but no take-down defense. Silva didn't do much when he got him on the ground, or he would have really embarassed kong. Against someone with good ground and pound kong will lose quick.

Arlovski keeping distance from Werdum makes perfect sense if you know anything about Fabricio's skills. There's no reason to even get in a clinch and give him an opportunity to get a takedown via trip or even pulling guard. He knew he could handle Werdum on his feet, no reason to risk it. Maybe a boring 3rd round, but he fought the smart fight.

Cro Cop - sigh... this is the second time he's gotten KO'd by a ground guy because he wasn't prepared for that opponents striking power. First Randleman, now Gonzaga. Time to regroup, work a bit more on his ground game, and stop being such a counterpuncher. That's the thing, he's got absolutely phenomenal strikes, but he prefers to counterpunch or to fire off single shots, you rarely see him push the pace or fire first.

Bisping looked very, very, very good. He got caught with a shot, recovered well, got himself out of a bad spot (that kimura was close), reversed a guy on his back, and displayed brutal GNP. Sinosic was a mess at the end of that fight.

I'm pretty pissed that they didn't show the Machida fight. I've been waiting to see this guy in the UFC for a while, and they didn't show him... again. They're clearly going to do him like they did Nate Marquardt. Let him string together a string of wins then break him out for a title shot after they've run through their current structure. Look for Machida to get the next shot at Chuck (if he wins) or Rampage after Chuck's rematch (if Rampage wins). Barring Shogun to the UFC look for them to start pushing Machida in the next couple of months.

Kongo's ground game has actually improved (if you can believe that). He looked totally clueless against a small heavyweight who was a mediocre wrestler (Carmello Marrero). Tonight he actually looked like he had rudimentary defense. A few months with some wrestlers (like Joe Rogan suggested) and Kongo could be filthy.

nah fuck that arlovski could have pushed the pace

i normally dont complain about slow paced fights ( I thought koschek fought a great fight against diego and im huge diego fan) but after the first round arlovski was gun shy and it was so obvious

i didnt expect arlovski to jump into werdums guard, but he could have made it look more like he cared to finish the fight no one said he had to try to clinch but arlovski is starting to become less exciting under the guise of playing it safe, theres a difference between being reckless and dictating the pace of the fight, after an excellent first round arlovski rode the surf to the shore and little else

^i hpe he has improved, that carmello marrero fight disenchanted me about him, cuz he showed no ground prowess and i cannot stand one dimensional fighters

Arlovski did the same damn thing against Silvia who is not a ground expert. And he wasnt in clear control of the first few rounds so he surely wasnt "playing it smart" there. I think he just needs to develop a decent/mediocre ground game so he can afford to take it to the ground against oafs like silvia or get in the clinch occasionally.

Sounds like Serra is going to promote this fight, TUF, and prolly Xience for the next 6+ months until he gets destroyed, Dana has found himself a grade A cockboy. Not that I blame him, when you're the luckiest man in the world you might as well make the most of it.

Probably so, although I hope he drops hughes like he did GSP. Hughes is a dick, but a dick who will probably win when they fight.
