so i have all these solidworks drawing files that i saved as super mega giga high quality pdfs and i need to import them into word

but when i do i lose the super mega giga high quality and it looks like shit and i am afraid that when i go to the kinos, the final report is going to look like shit

anyone know what i need to do to preserve the super mega giga high quality?[cdoe]

ok so i was just using the camera icon to grab it, which i guess is just a screen shot

because then i zoomed in all the way and grabbed it, i kept the awesome quality

so i have about 40 of these to do

what am i missing?

do you have photoshop? you can open it in photoshop and either extract the photos or have photoshop render the entire page at whatever resolution you want.

If the PDF is not protected you should be able to copy the image and paste it into Word

Are you scaling them in word? I have seen word do piss poor scaling before, especially if there is a vector based image involved.

i dont know all the fancy words but here is what i was doing:

so i would just grab the image with the camera tool and paste it into word

well if i was at 66% zoom (it was in a window, not full screen) and paste it would only paste what i saw (the 66%) so if i scaled it up i looked like shit

so i had to zoom it about 500-600% and copy and paste and scale it down so it didnt look like shit

it is a problem because i need the clarity on the dimensions

but im done now, it only took about 30 minutes

Word doesn't play well with PDFs. You are SOL. Find another way to do what you want to do.

Click on the select tool in the Acrobat Reader toolbar. Click on the image you want to use. If the image does not highlight you may need to click it again. Press Ctrl+C. Paste the image into Word. It will be pasted in it's original resolution. DO NOT TAKE A SCREENSHOT.

If you want to select PART of an image, use the select tool. Click and drag across the image to create a selection rectangle. Right-click the selected region and copy. Paste into Word. The image fragment you pasted will be at its original resolution.

Note: you can't copy vector images from a pdf.

e.g. http://www.fema.gov/pdf/library/pfd_all.pdf

The FEMA / dept of homeland security logo on page 1 can't be copied using the select button. Every raster image in the document can though.

^yes you can, just only to vector programs (illustrator, indesign etc)

And yes, you need to be using the select tool, not the camera tool

because i want them in the paper, and it was the only way to get the solidworks drawing sheets without losing any quality
