I'm looking for a block of aluminum about the size of a deck of cards, where would I find such a thing?
I've tried Home Depot, and Ace Hardware, and no luck at either. I need something at least 1/2" thick 4/22/2007 5:11:29 PM |

I think I may not need as large a piece as I thought I did.
Here is a pic of what I am trying to replicate: http://www.billysblades.com/Other%20Goodies%20Images/4567.h12.jpg http://www.billysblades.com/Other%20Goodies/4567.htm
It is a jig to hold down a straight razor while sanding/polishing it. The aluminum acts as a heat sink for the blade, because you can not overheat the blades or it will detemper the steel and the razor becomes useless then.
I've already seen the 1/4" thick pieces of aluminum at Home Dept and the hardware store, so that just might work after all.

no, I only collect and restore them, with a little sharpening, sanding and polish you can turn a $15 eBay razor into a $50 razor 4/23/2007 10:28:54 AM |
