I used to play it, was in for the whole Mall Tour stuff and Mark 5:9 shit (fun stuff, look up on the wiki), but it got boring eventually and my group went to http://www.nexuswar.com , which also got boring.

I'm working to level up enough to be useful and then joining up with a group of militant librarians

I want to help hold down all of the libraries in Malton... they are actually of some use
you'll always find a book there and reading the book offers a 10% chance of earning 1XP (20% if you're a science class)

if you just sat in the library and used all your AP reading books after like a month you'd roll out of there like a monster

Easiest to level is fireman, doesn't cost any ammo since you use the axe and zombies are pretty easy to find. You start in a hellish area too usually. A lot more fun than just a scientist, lol. You can also make multiple characters, just register new ones. One scientist, one zombie, one fireman, etc.

If you're interested in joining a group then have a look out for advertisement tags on buildings or go on the wiki and find one that looks interesting. I don't know human groups other than Black Berets, but good zombie groups are RRF...the others escape me. If you get with an organized group they should have timed raids on zombies (or human buildings), have strongholds set up in resource buildings, and in general make leveling a lot faster.

but I started my zombie character as a cop so that I could have a flak jacket to begin with
I think I'm going to spend a short amount of time as a human so I can buy Body Building to further increase my zombie's resilience

Question: If I drop an item in a room with you and you search do you immediately find the item I dropped or does it sink into the soup of the game?

Dropping an item deletes it.

Your roommate has the right idea .

Its pretty hard imo to level up a zombie from a human class since you don't have any Z skills to begin with.

You are TheNC and you are dead. You have 60 Hit Points and 1969 Experience Points. You have 50 Action Points remaining.

Also have a lvl 30 survivor (currently dead )

My level 12 medic got killed and is having a terrible time without any zombie skills.

how do people feel about West Grayside?

it has 4 fire stations, 3 police departments, 2 hospitals, 2 Necrotech buildings and a mall
lots of buildings are running generators

but you'll want to come in with Freerunning cause lots of buildings are EHB

Hodgkinson Row Fire Station is heavily barricaded but you can still get in

its got like 30 survivors in it and a generator... with the generator running your odds of a successful search increase - so if you need a fire axe or something this is where to get it

Eh, whatever. I can't do anything else today because I have multiple characters and apparently you can only hit the site 160 times total from any given machine. So even though I finally have some AP again, I have to sit tight in the police station there.

I've got a fuel can, a pistol, some clips, binocculars and a radio for the time being, which respresents a pretty nice collection for me, anyway.

it runs just a tad slower than normal for me, but I wanted to use that rather than the paypal thing because I wasn't sure which characters I'd be using for good

as much as it sucks that we're limited to 50AP a day, I kinda like not being able to buy them

dopewars online worked on a similar system, but you could donate to buy AP, so if you wanted to be in the running for the top 10 of the game, you pretty much had to donate. Now, I think they could stand to increase the max number of AP, or change it to 1 AP / 20 minutes so we can play a little more

honestly I want to barricade and defend a library

if you search in a library you surely find a book
if you read a book that's a 10% shot at 1XP

that's free XP without risking your neck

science classes have a 20% shot

EHB a library next to another building we can keep at VSB. Nerds can use free running to get into the library and read, the rest of us can use the next door building as a military defense post/staging point

actually, it wouldn't even have to be a library would it? you can read anywhere

but that is slow going XP, even if there is no risk. if you swing an axe with any proficiency you have a >20% chance of getting 3 XP per AP

We should probably pick a non-vital building and set up there (not a police station, NT building, and maybe not a hospital) to try to avoid zed hordes

I'd vote for the Younghusband Arms (just from looking at the map). It's close to a fire station, police station, NT building and a cemetary (if we get beef enough we could set up our own Revive Point).
