The WNBA and its players' union officially signed a labor agreement, which guaranteed that the league will be able to properly go on for the seventh year.
The Cleveland Rockers selected Mississippi State forward LaToya Thomas with the top pick in the 2003 WNBA Draft.
2006 Dallas Mavericks head coach Avery Johnson was named NBA Coach of the Year.
The Vancouver Canucks fired head coach Marc Crawford.
Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams lost his appeal for a fourth violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy and will be forced to sit out the 2006 season.
