Is there any way to get a single pack of contacts (like just one for one eye) instead of buying a whole box?
I have somehow managed to tear all of my right eye contacts and since my prescription is different for both eyes I can't just use the ones I have for my left eye. I don't want to get a whole box right now because I don't have the money for it but I need a lense for my right eye. Do eye places sell singles? 4/28/2007 2:43:29 PM |

if you go to any optometrist with your prescription, they will probably just give you one. if not it'll only be a dollar or two.
you can buy just a box of rights BTW, and it wont be but like 20 bucks. 4/28/2007 2:53:21 PM |

I might check with an optometrist, then. Mine are usually $110 for a year's supply and they're $40/box on 1800contacts, though. 4/28/2007 2:55:29 PM |

Unless your prescription is expired, your doctor should be able to give you a trial lens. 4/28/2007 3:06:54 PM |

Do you think that an optometrist other than my usual one would give me a sample if I showed them my 'script? My usual doctor is in VA and I don't plan to go home anytime within the next couple of weeks. 4/28/2007 3:10:24 PM |

Yes, sound sorta desperate and they should be able to give you the trial ones, they're not allowed to sell the trial lenses anyway. I've done it here and in England both times when I ran out of even my backup contacts. 4/28/2007 3:36:32 PM |

My other eye is a -8.0.
I'm thinking about getting laser surgery after I have a job (graduating this semeter) because it's a real pain not to be able to see anything without glasses or contacts. 4/29/2007 1:19:11 PM |

Not many places are probably going to have that power in stock. Your best bet is to call your doctor at home and have them order and mail you a trial lens 4/29/2007 1:21:51 PM |

Like Chief said, selling trials to you isn't going to happen. You could get lucky and find a local optometrist office that a) stocks your power and b) is willing to hand over a trial to you since you aren't their patient. Some offices actually prefer that you turn in your torn lenses so that they can prove to the manufacturing company that the lenses were damaged or faulty. I'd really reccommed going through your usual doctor--that's probably the best chance you'll have of getting lenses for free. 4/29/2007 7:30:45 PM |
