Im looking to buy some old used electonics, stuff from the 70's, old useless junk, peices of equipment that I can buy for cheap so I can pull parts and such off of. Does anyone know where to find surplus equipment around raleigh. Any help would be appreciated.

^yeah the nc state surplus is a pretty good place to start out with. last time i heard, it's open to the public for only like two hours on a saturday or something wacky like that

add: sorry i was thinkin of the one right by 440 between western and hillsborough. here's the other one http://www.ncstatesurplus.com/ssp/public/ssphomepage/ssp.htm

If you really want broken junk, there is an indoor Flea Market on Capital Bvld. (Dirt mall for all the “Mall Rats” fans) At the very back there is a guy that has all kinds of stuff. Last year I bought 3 power supplies there for 3 dollars and stripped out the colored wire, heat sinks, and other parts I needed for a project I was working ok.

He has printers, TVs, old phone. You name it, he probably has it.

sweet, im looking for all sorts of parts, and nixie tubes are what I would really love to find. I could order them off the net but that takes the adventure out of finding em for my nixie clock.
