So, yes, I used my MSDNAA key already,

But i dont want to go to vista, and I plan on getting 1-2 new computers in the near future or next year or so, and I'd much rather install XP. That said-
Can you still buy XP with the edu discount through NCSU bookstores? Alternatively, anyone else know of where it's on sale? (yes, googled, yes physically walked into the bookstore but didnt have a spare moment to ask as there werent any copies on the shelf when i was there).

there is no discount on an OEM copy

i dont know if the upgrade to XP is still available...that was the only one with the discount

you can buy education xp disc's online, you'd just need to say that your from ncsu and have it be verified. Not sure where to buy them now, but newegg used to sell them. Can't find it on there anymore.

the OEM copy of xp i bought for work a year back from tiger direct was only $175 + $0.99 for a wire of some sort (you know, for the whole OEM thing)...at least, i think it was that cheap

I just put 2 more copies of windows XP professional OEM on order today from D&H, and they should arrive in a couple weeks or so. If you do want them we can order them for you still. D&H still had some in stock as of today when I left, so we can order you a couple copies if you want. Just call up tomorrow and ask to place a special order, free of charge.

Can you not just call up the MSDNAA coordinator here and tell them you need another key for legitimate use?
