Seriously, we have no problem with thieving from the break room in my work place. We have a fridge for communal food and a fridge for private food. And I have never once had to worry about people going into my office unsupervised, much less taking food!

Our office administrator has just left so it's defaulted back to me to order shit for the office.

GUY: Hey are we planning on ordering more bottled water?
ME: I checked the supplies list and there aren't any requests there.
GUY: Well we're out.
ME: Did you put it on the supplies list?
GUY: No but when do you think you will order some?
ME: When it gets on the supplies list and we'll probably have it next day.
GUY: Well I was thinking I'd go out now and get some and expense it.
ME: We can get it pretty quick, besides we have filtered tap water...
GUY: Yeah I'll just go get some and expense it...

I don't even need a damn filter, I've never understood these folks who can't just drink tap water.

I've heard the only way to stop people from thieving your food is to take pictures of yourself licking it and spitting in it and affix them to the food. Even reporting dickheads to HR doesn't help, cause HR doesn't care, and then the dickhead will just do it out of spite. I simply don't understand these kinds of people.

My annoyance: dude beside me eats some kind of rice mixture thingy every single day. What it's mixed with is usually different, but it's always rice, and it's always in a glass bowl. That he scrapes with a spoon. For 30 fucking minutes. Every. God. Damned. Day. And he slurps the rice. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU SLURP RICE?
So, I know roughly when he eats, and I am good about getting the hell out of there around that time. Today he ate a late lunch, right after I came back from my lunch. He sat down with his glass bowl, and started scraping away, and then I noticed a strange smell. Something between a basketball and gym shorts. Fucker is eating the stinkiest shrimp I have ever smelled, with dozens of people around who don't want to smell that shit. And slurping it.

I got up and took another hour long break.

lol asian guy?

I really miss being able to wear whatever I want. Now I am at a new place where it's business casual. And no skirts/dresses unless you work in office areas. Summer is hot as fuck here.

Cunty 5head girl that only works hard when she's in the spotlight. Other times she's watching netflix.

How the hell can you have your CCNP and not know how to add a route to a fucking switch correctly?!

Another thing. Working on helping a client out. Has the client's account rep and her manager involved in an email chain. Ask the senior engineer for advice and get a nicely typed up document sent to you with the bug, how it was diagnosed and what the fix is. Go back to the main email chain with the rep and manger and leave the engineer off. Claim credit for the work.

Huge fucking cunt.

Fuck this. I'm going to make/buy a device that will just make a constant annoying noise all day long at an uneven beat to show this foot tapping cocksucker how god damn annoying he is. 50 fucking minutes...he's been having a solo drum off for 50 fucking minutes.

Final grades are done. Kid skips his exam and the make up. Get email from head counselor that I need to be available for him to come make up his exam tomorrow... When tomorrow I'm booked because the science department is moving buildings and tomorrow is moving day.

I do on a regular basis. He'll stop for 10 minutes at best.

Management doesn't give a shit because they don't have to be around it and he's their golden child*.

People who have nothing better to do where I work at than to put in a safety violation for me walking in the grass from my car instead of using a sidewalk.

Coworker and newest employee in the office is a hard worker, but also a complete fucking flake. Can't handle working with other people, gets anxiety attacks and shit like that. Then misses a shitload of work. Lately he has been completely unreliable and we have been lucky if he makes it in two days in a week. He's always sick, somebody is in the hospital, car got towed, etc. When he comes in he usually misses his bus and is between 15 minutes and hours late.

This week he comes in and announces his old boss at his last job at App State (where he was a student employee and then a contractor) offered him a job. Full time with benefits and an analyst level. So now he's making like $20k more than what he was making and pretty much more then anybody else he worked with. Everybody thought he was going to get fired for never coming to work and instead he gets a promotion? State employment, go figure.

^^ but you might trip and fall! That's the kind of crap you get from safety reporting quota systems. I routinely did "safety evaluations" of guys changing lights in the hallway.

Also, don't know if I've mentioned this, but I can't stand when people cut half a a fucking donut up and leave the other half in the box. EAT THE WHOLE GOD DAMNED DONUT. You're already eating pure sugar. Only eating half of it isn't really helping you, and instead it just gets wasted because nobody wants the other half of the donut that you put your nasty hands all over. Eat the whole thing, or throw the other half away and look modest, or don't touch the damned box at all.

The annoying as fuck foot tapper got so bad yesterday, the guy that's usually completely tolerant of all of that shit said something. His response, "I'm not even doing anything."

HERE'S A NOVEL IDEA, YOU NERVOUS FAT FUCK, IF IT'S CONSTANTLY BEING POINTED OUT TO YOU, INSTEAD OF DENYING IT, MAYBE YOU SHOULD MAKE AN EFFORT TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THE FUCK YOU'RE DOING AND STOP BEING AN ANNOYING PIECE OF SHIT.

I'm 10ft away...and he has to walk by me every time he enters/leaves. He makes a point to stare at what I'm doing as if it's any of his business. Even funnier, every time he enters, he steps ~4ft in the wrong direction AND LEANS AROUND A WALL so he can look over the shoulder of another coworker and see what they're doing, too

One of the worst things about software consulting is taking compliance training for every damn bank, telco, healthcare, etc company you have as a client.

went to a professional development workshop today... this was a specific workshop to familiarize us with the ins and outs of some of the latest assessment tools for school (in other words very specific as to what we had the option to learn).
of course you can't go to an education workshop without at least SOME fluff built in, so we had an intro and conclusion sessions at the beginning and end of the day. now these are usually bad and I just tune them out, but the "keynote" speaker went off on a full out "self help" style assault... crap like:
"look into your neighbor's eyes..."
"tell yourself 'I MATTER!!!'"
"Moonshot thinking" powerpoint - typical 'shoot for the stars etc etc'

ok fine. i got through it but only because i got up much earlier this morning than I have most of the summer, and i hadn't finished my first coffee at this point so that's what i focused on.

the rest of the day was great... got to learn the application, found new ways to analyze data, etc... the kind of workshop that gives me a tangible, concrete skill.

fast forward to the end of the day. now we had to sign out AFTER the closing session in order to get paid for the day. We had about 15 minutes from the end of the last "real" session and the closing so I went ahead and got a seat towards the front of the auditorium and filled out the feedback survey thing ahead of time so I could get out quickly and drive back to raleigh to see my kids.
well enter fuckface from this morning. now this guy... i can't describe him and fully communicate just how much i wanted to repeatedly slam my head into a concrete wall whenever he spoke, but his voice was somewhere between a pre-teen girl squeal and a dying cat's screech. (and then he does the "whisper-talk" when making a very "touching" point)

so once he is done with his "wrap-up" he says that once we get the survey done we can go check out. but then the mother fucker, at the end of the day when everyone is tired and ready to go back to our respective cities, decides it would be cute to dismiss the auditorium row by row.

"ok first row"... ... ...
(waits until they have completely exited the entire auditorium...)
"ok... giggle... BACK ROW!!!!"... ... ...
"hmmm... lets see... 14th row...!!!!lolol!!!"

I had had enough. i told the teacher (who i didn't know from eve) "fuck this bullshit" and I got up, looked at the speaker, AND LEFT BEFORE HE CALLED MY ROW. WHO GOT THE LAST LAUGH, BITCH?!

this is the most ridiculous action by a human being that I've heard of in some time. Does he take you guys for children, just because he's so used to addressing kids?

good for you for ignoring this shit. I'm surprised 25% of the auditorium didn't get up and leave immediately.

^^ That's fucking hilarious/ridiculous. My wife's stories from those workshop/conferences were always hilarious. She'd call me at lunch and I'd ask her how the first half of the day was and she would go, "They just spent four hours teaching us how to fill out a form that our dog could complete."

When I visited our consulting firm in Boston it was a four minute walk to the office and almost everyone walked, biked, or took a short train ride in to work.

dude, i can't wait for that day. I think in 9.5 years when I have nothing to hold me to this area, a short commute is going to be a priority.

I have thought about buying a crash pad out close to my job...maybe a duplex or triplex, where I'd keep one unit to stay in on weeknights when I don't have my daughter. then i could rent the other(s) out to hopefully break even or maybe even generate a tiny positive cashflow.

I work a full-time job (job A) that obviously pays more per hour and a part-time job (job B). Job B told me I am "required" to go to a customer service workshop/class next Thursday (which they clearly know I work somewhere else as a supervisor and I can't just leave when I want to.

I said "If the class is only during the week, I will be unable to attend because I can't just leave one job for a class (not a mandatory scheduled shift) for another job." They kept reiterating that it is "required" but how the h*ll am I going to risk getting in trouble and putting my other job in jeopardy because of some class that I've heard from other coworkers it's nothing for my particular position anyway.

In my previous 4 years (before I left and came back), I NEVER had to attend any class of any kind of training. UNBELIEVABLE. They really think I'm going to leave my other job that pays more and is way more important to attend a "customer service class".........rightttttt!

The office and delivery truck are a mess. I have been working in the same facility for about a month now. I finally threw out the McDonalds sandwich that was in the frig for about 2 weeks. The same half drank 2 liter Pepsi bottle has been sitting on the break room table the entire time I have worked there. My boss eats lots of fast food and just leaves it in the truck and office.

^^ & ^^^ I don't have any vacation time anymore (used almost 3 weeks of it in March when I was in Greensboro for the ACC Tourney and then came down with the Flu for 2 weeks after).

I decided to just work at Job A and keep it moving. Seemed to work out.

I share a cubicle with a 24 year old. Jesus christ won't shut up about anything and everything. Way too open about her personal life. And won't shut up about her boyfriend since it's her first one. And the phone calls to her boyfriend....cringe....that "baby" voice she puts on.

^^I hate those kind. I used to work with people who thought it was really cool to talk to someone about their personal problems on the phone, or get into an argument about it on the phone in the break room. That actually makes you look retarded and not cool.
