Your Unity account remains active with "graduate" access for a period of 4 months. You are notified at least once before your account is deactivated.

We encourage users to begin the transition from using your Unity account to some other e-mail service after graduation, since some folks are caught off-guard by that 4 month limit.

The Alumni Association does apparently provide e-mail forwards in the form of whatever@alumni.ncsu.edu. These are merely forward to another e-mail account that you already use. They are not affiliated with your Unity account in any way.

do *NOT* trust that 3-4 month timeout period, make the switch to a new email address as soon as possible to avoid that "OH SHIT!" moment when they do finally cut off your email access. Back up or forward any emails that you want to keep to some other location.

when I graduated, my email address was active for longer than 3-4 months, but I had switched away from using my ncsu.edu address long before then

yeah, i think mine lasted about 6 months. but i wouldnt bet on it.
