my trackpad isnt work ing worth a shit even my keyboard is messing up, it took me 5 minutes to type this, its lagging bad

If it's lagging but actually recording all your keystrokes, I'd guess most likely viruses and spyware. If it's missing keystrokes and you have to hit it a bunch of times or really hard for it to register you probably need a new keyboard. If it's under warranty that would be covered (without thinkpad protection) if no obvious damage is visible. If obvious damage is visible and you do not have thinkpad protection it'll cost about a hundred bucks to replace.

I'm guessing it's probably a virus though if general system performance is terrible. Can always have people at the bookstore take a look. Even if it's out of warranty they'll look at it for free as long as you bought it there.

ok ran norton problem seemed to get a little better for a day or so, then disappeared for a couple days

since then it has gotten progressively worse, now cpu is lagging and startup takes forever

ran norton again last night, took like 2 hours, no problems same as before but no better performance

cleaned the jizz off, no better


its difficult to even type now, took me 10 minutes so far

this is a HP pavilion dv4000 series notebook i am not a student so bookstore wont help me
