I got a few calls from an unrecognized number this week, and finally today a voicemail that told me to call TWC customer service.

I'm thinking "wtf are they calling me for, I pay by autodraft." I pay most of my bills by autodraft to minimize my exposure to stupid CSRs and to keep track of what is due when.

Anyway, I call and ask the lady what's up. She's like "well, there's no notes on your account....... I dont know why they would be calling you. I'll put a note on your account that you returned the call, though."

Going back through my missed calls, they have called at least 4 times in the past week - apparently for no reason.

[Edited on May 19, 2007 at 10:54 AM. Reason : i've told them to put a note on my account that I will never buy digital phone]

Me too! I don't know what it's about either.

The only reason in the past that I've ever received calls from them (and I highly doubt this is why we both were called multiple times this week) is that I also do bank draft but for some reason they screwed up my account numbers and my payment didn't go through so the rejects who work there called to tell me but didn't leave a message so they cut off my internet until I called to find out all of this happened. They said that I was called and I "politely" told them that calling but not leaving an appropriate message does not constitute calling a client to notify them of an account problem.

I hate TWC. I might answer when they call again (as I'm sure they will) and I will be pissed if it's a sales pitch.

Well, there will be hell to pay if they're trying to process my payment 2 weeks early. I'll put somebody's ass in a sling.

These service companies seriously need a "do not call unless problem" flag in their CRM systems, because I swear to god I hate it when people call me trying to sell me shit. I know what I have, I know what I want, and I am informed enough to know my options to pursue the options I desire. I don't want somebody calling me trying to get me to buy shit that I do not want.

Do you have all three of their services? They were calling me for a while the same way. I had Road Runner and cable. I finally answered the phone one day and they tried to sell me on the digital phone service. That is the reason they had been calling me every day sometimes twice a day. I told them I didn't want it and not to call back and they haven't called since.

Same with mine. It's because it's the people in Sales that call. The CSRs dont know and the sales people dont note it.

Their Digital Phone is pretty much flawless for anyone that is interested. It works much better than Vonage. I mainly keep a landline to send faxes from and I have not had one fail in mid transmission yet.

With Vonage not even a page would complete.

Yeah, I've gotten a bunch of calls this week as well. I called back yesterday and bitched them out. They called again today, I'm going to verbally murder someone at TWC in a little bit.

I had the digital phone for about 3-4 months. Worked great, had no problems with it. However, everyone we knew still just called our cells so we had no use for it so we got rid of it.

they called like 30 minutes after I first posted... and they were selling digital phone

I told them they were using my minutes to call me on my cell phone which is and will remain my only line of phone service and not to call anymore

the guy sounded like I hurt his feelings a little... I think he should get used to rejection

i've never had an issue with vonage though i never send faxes except through email. i had twc digital phone and the service was fine. but vonage is the exact same service for a lot less money.

^^i have vonage and it sucks ass. they also want to charge me 90 bucks to cancel service. 40 for cancelling and 50 for the rebate on the equipment because it's been less than 6 months. they wont let me even send back the modem. i found out too late i could have sent it all back in the first 30 days. i tried to cancel at about 40 days but it was too late, now to cancel i have to bend over and take it.

strange. i've had vonage in 2 cities, 3 different places for about 3 years now. it's been flawless and i've always had perfect fax capability.

interesting how different service to others is.

^^^what makes vonage suck? i'm just wondering what could be wrong. i know everytime i pick up the phone, I have a dial tone, I press 7 numbers, it rings and i talk then hang up. what else could be going on? this crap about digital phone sounding better is bullshit.

the line is always staticy. the person on the other end has trouble understanding me. there's a terrible echo most of the time. about once a day i'll pick up and not get a dial tone it says the vonage device cannot connect, blah blah, and i'll have to reset it. i never know how long it's been like that. we've lost service completely many times. customer service does nothing to help.

i've tried messing with the bandwidth saver both ways, moving the device, different phones, etc. but nothing seems to help.

No you don't, keep arguing with them, what are they gonna do? File a BBB and attorney generals complaint that the phone did not work and they charged you to cancel it. I would be willing to bet you get a letter in a few weeks saying the charges have been erased.

Your vonage can only be as good as your ISP, keep that in mind. If vonage is sucking for you, it's likely not their fault.

yeah. the best thing is to answer. if you are labeled as a person who doesn't pick up the phone they will call you a few times to get up their phone stats-- typically they need 100-150 dials a day-- since they know you wont answer and they can get four or five easy dials off of you.

They used to call and leave a message in Spanish - eventually I answered and pretty much cussed them out and told them if they called me again I'd charge them with harassment after screaming at whatever unlucky sap called me.

No more calls.
