i got everything up and running. I am using my LCD tv as my monitor via the DVI on the 8800. I have installed all the drivers and windows xp pro. I have my resoltuiojn set at 1280x720 the native resolution of my tv i think. It worked fine til i adjusted the color settings. now, the screen is being cut off on all sides and only showing half the height of the bottom toolbar on windows. I turned off the computer, and set the dvi into the other output on the 8800. it went back and showed the entire screen and everything correctly. however when i went into the nvidia control panel and adjusted a setting, the screen reversed and cut off the same region of the screen on all sides. what is causing this? what should i do

clean install of xp pro? or did you upgrade from another video card? latest drivers? try going into the monitor properties on the tv and see if you can adjust it, but usually that shouldn't be the case since it's a digital signal using the DVI port. Try doing the same setting changes using another monitor. And check to see if your Hz is setup correctly, usually 60Hz is the norm.

It's so fast it's bending space-time around your monitor. The light emitted from the top half of your toolbar is unable to escape.

Who makes your tv?
Some tvs still over scan even w/ an hd signal which would cause this
(typically used to trim off the noise from an analog signal)

probably overscan i think only the xbr sony's do 1:1 pixel mapping but i'm not positive.
