I once used a program called offline commander to do this. It just spiders a website and downloads a local copy to your computer. I seem to remember it being a bitch and a half to set up though.

for pulling images, i prefer webripper (http://webripper.dnsalias.com/)

it's a bit quirky, but allows you to download just images, and sorts them automatically based on size, dimensions, etc.

"DownThemAll" is a good FF plugin to use. You can just right click, select "Save all pictures/movies/links/whatever", and ta-da.

low tech way is just Save Page As, and do it as a 'Web page, complete' and all the pics should be in the folder there

i have a similar problem

http://woodshole.er.usgs.gov/pubs/of2005-1293/html/appendix1.html

Quote :
"Copy the following folder gis/OFR_2005_1293 to your computer and open the ArcMap document USGS_1293.mxd."

they make it like its easy to copy the folder but when i right click the link it only saves a webpage and not the stuff on the webpage

the "gis/OFR_2005_1293" folders link is http://woodshole.er.usgs.gov/pubs/of2005-1293/gis/OFR_2005_1293/

haha...wget can be pretty cryptic. Not for the inexperienced.

It's got a LOT of commandline options to set how/what to download, and you can use regular expressions to tweak exactly what kind of things you want to get, but it's a pain to use if you're not familiar with it.
