I want one that I can mount in my truck and remove it for use on an ATV, by hand, or on a boat... primarily for a boat since my old one works ok for atv and handheld use.

I also would like it to have good maps of the coastline and rivers...

I want to be able to put in a lat/long heading and go straight to it also... without having to put in a street name (off shore points that are marked by lat/lon or headings) but I'd also like to be able to enter a city/town/location and have turn by turn directions

I want a color screen and all that also

ideas?

I'm not trying to be a (total) smartass here, but what makes you think that you'll get any different replies than you've already gotten in the other two threads that you've posted in on the exact same topic?

well to repeat what I've said before, I'll highly recommend the Mio Units. I have a C310X, but their new low-end model is the 220, and it's basically the same as the 310, but with less internal storage for maps. There are coastline maps available for it and it's highly hackable if you get into things like that.

Pretty soon this thread will fill up with people that will swear on the Garmon units, but I haven't seen anything about them that's so special that justifies the 300-400% price hike over the $200 MSRP of the Mio. If being able to use your gps unit as a bluetooth headset for your cell phone and the ability to have your device read out street names is worth an extra $400, then have at it. I'll stick with my Mio.

(Oh I didn't mean you started the threads, only that you've posted in them, and I do remember specifically answering a couple of your questions about them in one)

ok thanks, I'll check them out

water resistant or proof by chance?

I just want to have something else besides my standard gazetteer that I use for travel around the BFE roads of eastern NC that I can turn around and use in a boat also

Does anyone have any experience with the Garmin Nuvi 350? I can get a new one for about 300, and was wandering if it is worth it?
