transformers is top 3 at least in terms of hype and anticpation

and I guess by summer this guy doesn't include May because Shrek and Pirates are much bigger than Resident Evil and Sunshine

most of that list is watch out for because they're so bad...

Rush Hour 3 and Die hard are the only 2 on your list worth seeing.

its because transformers will flop hard and will leave people angry. (resident evil may very well flop hard due to the last one but people who see it will like it)

people told me the same cries about spiderman before it came out (which was the most hyped movie of the year) and i knew it would flop hard. i liked the first 2 btw.

and at the end of the day shrek and pirates are still shrek and pirates. they're good movies but i didn't really count kids movies in here.

Sunshine is my sleeper pick. my #5 spot has always been a sleeper pick.

so yes 3 of them are obvious and 2 you will thank me for the advice on after seeing it.

alright guys g2g.

[Edited on May 23, 2007 at 9:23 PM. Reason : i can understand if you don't take my word on r.e.e. because the last was bad]

pirates and rush hour are both pg-13, so i'm not really following you.

and the resident evil movies are shit, why don't you add white chicks 2 to the list while you're at it.

Rush hour will be dumb but funny.

Die hard will be dumb but have good action.

Sunshine sounds just dumb. 8 people in a spaceship are going off on a mission to save the sun? Are they bringing a tank of sunny D with them or something?

resident evil.... hmm.. well, i liked the first one and thought the second one kinda blew

as far as sunshine goes... i think it's gonna be kickass

also, I'm not expecting anything amazing out of hostel 2. Sure, I'll watch it, but only because I watch about 200 movies a year

hostel was the most overrated horror film in years. if you want gruesome, at least something like saw had some interesting gizmos and whatnot.

i have no sympathy for a bunch of annoying 20 somethings trying to fuck women in europe, it wasnt paced right, and even the gore was relatively limited.

can someone explain to me why the first one was so well received?

[Edited on May 26, 2007 at 9:02 AM. Reason : oh and the ending was stupid too]

so pirates was a big letdown to everyone and alot of people do take thier kids to see it because the first 2 were kid friendly and pg 13 is ok for kids these days. AND ITS FRIGGIN DISNEY

the movie was 3 hours long with about 8 minutes of action. talk talk talk. FLOP.

i told you guys. the doubters better start listening to me now. if somebody gave me insider info i would listen to it.

For some reason the Simpsons movie seems totally irrelevant to me. Sure I like the show but i don't see what a movie will have to offer that 400 episodes hasn't already. If they used live actors I'd be more interested in it just to see what kind of train wreck it'd turn out to be.

Not quite. just reading the synopsis, you can see this is a total ripoff of Tarkovsky's Solaris, from the original story by Stanislaw Lem. Lem's Solaris was the Russian literary rival to Arthur C. Clarke's 2001: A Space Oddessy, and along with Kubrik and Tarkovsky it almost was like the Cold War in literature/film.

Tarkovsky's film is one of the all-time best movies. the Steven Soderberg's 2002 remake of Solaris (with George Clooney) ... not so great. since this Sunshine is just a cheap ripoff, i think i'll just save my time and money to watch something more important

... like maybe John Rambo

^^^ I think Sunshine sounds like a watered down Event Horizon. but in fact, i've seen neither... I'm curious of the main premise of the movie. When our sun fails it will be because it's consumed most of its hydrogen and starts to balloon to a red giant. Unless you're toting many trillion tons (probably more, I don't know) of hydrogen to the sun, I can't imagine you'll do much for it. but be careful you don't make a black hole.

Wow. This movie might make Armageddon look reasonable and scientifically accurate by comparison.
