I was thinking about buying this AMD CPU Combo

http://www.slickdeals.net/?permadeal=9524#direct_deal_9524

I know this isn't the latest and greatest, but for email, internet, video editing, etc, will this do the trick? or should I jump up to say an intel e4300

can't beat the price, any core2duo even the e4300 will run you twice as much including motherboard.

but then again the core2duo is going to be about 30% faster or so i'd say.

in terms of upgradability, socket 939 is already legacy hardware..

Based on what you said, I might jump on it, as I think it will do fine for my needs. The main reason I haven't, is having to buy DDR memory, and it is kinda expensive. Should I put 1 or 2 gigs in for running XP?

Thanks for the help.
