It's possible that the acetone will mar the plastic though.

Some plastics aren't susceptible, but some are, and the xbox might be one.

Also, depending on the marker, just regular soap/water and good rubbing might take it off.

According to that, those Magic Eraser products might do it too. And maybe just a regular pencil eraser.

ready for the real fix?

Sugar.

Pour dry crystal sugar on it, use a damp rag and RUB THE FUCK OUT OF IT. It will eat off the market without damaging the plastic at all.

I've done this many times to remove various kinds of paint from plastic, it's the only sure fire way to do so without damaging the material.

Try one of those Mr Clean Magic Eraser's. It might work. My bad you don't need any more help.

I think this is similar to what Noen was talking about:

Remove logos with sugar:
http://consumerist.com/consumer/how-to/video-remove-cellphone-logos-with-sugar-244022.php

Could try any of the following:

Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer
Windex
Magic Eraser
Goof Off
Goo-Gone
WD-40
Pure Acetone
Rubbing Alcohol
Nail polish remover
Hair Spray

I'd be weary though of trying any of the one's that have the power to strip paint, I think you're best bet is the Magic Eraser, those things are crazy good...

when acetone fails, methyl ethyl ketone will work. Available at your local hardware store. But be careful. It's also not as volatile as acetone.

Goof off will eat plastic for breakfast. I do not recommend.

Never tried sugar, but it's some abrasive shit.

70% or higher ethanol (grain alcohol) will get it off pretty easily. Gasoline might work, but I'm not sure.

I would use a mixture of vinegar and soy sauce mixed finely to remove the marker.

suspend this user for antagonizing people's shit on here and making me look like a bad person. sorry but me and his ex together could not look very intimidating to him since we are both small, grounded people
