it was alright, but wayyyyyyy too slow moving in my opinion. it was too slow for a comedy, and too dumbed down to be seen as an interesting commentary.

I thought this movie was hilarious, but the funniest parts to me where the little, unnoticable things like when they showed the two buildings and one was snapped in half so they just tied rope around it to connect it to the other building

subtlety is fine, but that cant defeat slamming us in the head with the same dumb jokes over and over again for the other 85+ minutes of the movie.

But a couple of sites I saw deemed this a soon to be "cult classic" and I was baffled by those remarks.

I disagree. Hell, as dumb as the average person is today, this movie could have been a fucking documentary. I didn't really LOVE the movie as a comedy, but it sure did scare the hell out of me because I can see parts of it coming very close to happening.

I thought it was a great satirical comedy the first several times I watched it. It's been 10+ years since I've seen it, but I plan to watch it again sometime soon (somewhat reluctantly, as I don't think it's going to be quite a funny this time, given how accurate some of it's going to seem)

Also, these comments saying it's slow moving and too dumb to be good satire and full of the same repetitive jokes? WTF?

I bet I've watched this movie 5-10x, and I catch new stuff every single time. There are SO many little jokes in this movie. I don't think you could possibly catch them all the first time or two you watch it.
