it was alright, but wayyyyyyy too slow moving in my opinion. it was too slow for a comedy, and too dumbed down to be seen as an interesting commentary.

I thought this movie was hilarious, but the funniest parts to me where the little, unnoticable things like when they showed the two buildings and one was snapped in half so they just tied rope around it to connect it to the other building

subtlety is fine, but that cant defeat slamming us in the head with the same dumb jokes over and over again for the other 85+ minutes of the movie.

I didn't think the movie was all that great, there were some funny parts.

But a couple of sites I saw deemed this a soon to be "cult classic" and I was baffled by those remarks.

Just watched it, thought it was pretty shitty with the exception of upgrayedd coming out of the pod at the end.

I disagree. Hell, as dumb as the average person is today, this movie could have been a fucking documentary. I didn't really LOVE the movie as a comedy, but it sure did scare the hell out of me because I can see parts of it coming very close to happening.
