Help me out, guys.
I drive a '99 Eclipse (420A with 55K miles.)
I've had a misfire in cylinder 1 for what seems like forever. Of course I started with the plugs and wires. Didn't help. Eventually I found oil above the first cylinder (all over the boot,) I replaced the valve guide seals. But about a minute after I hit the road, I got the same problem again.
By the way, you can really feel the misfire at idle. It dips to what looks like 300-400 rpm. The wires are firing when you look at them out of the cylinder but it is inconsistent.
I changed the coil pack too. That didn't help either.
Any tips on where I should look next? Thanks. 5/30/2007 1:28:35 PM |

have you checked the injector pulse width, flow rate, and compression on that cylinder? 6/4/2007 10:42:10 AM |

eh idk. I didn't check it myself. The dude at Rising Sun checked everything out when I took it in for the leak. 6/5/2007 8:18:06 AM |

start swappin shit is the easiest way for you to do it without any diagnostic equipment, swap injectors, coil, wires and plug to another cylinder, and if you still have a problem on that cylinder, its either mechanical or ecm 6/5/2007 9:44:35 AM |

^that was the OBD code
and the wire fired inconsistently when I pulled it out of cylinder 1. Plus the oil was in that cylinder too. 6/6/2007 9:14:20 AM |
