ABC's coverage is complete garbage

TNT & NBC would each get exclusive rights to 2 First Round series respectively. Beyond the first round, TNT & NBC will share the rest of the playoff coverage. Like the current deal, TNT will alternate which Conference Final they will have exclusive rights to every year with the other going to NBC, who of course would broadcast the NBA Finals. The current NBA television contract with ABC,TNT,and ESPN expires following the 2008 NBA Finals, so this deal would begin during the 2008-2009 regular season."

Ha, I can almost guarantee they will not bring back that theme music. Networks cant grasp the idea of old still being good...it always needs to be "new and improved". I agree though, its a great theme, I rarely watch the NBA and never did during the NBC days, but I know the music.

Im surprised by this though...NBC is the network that dropped the NFL and the NBA because they were losing money...and only picked up the NHL because they worked out a revenue-sharing agreement. It also leaves ABC with pretty much nothing to fill the winter/spring months, unless they either expand on college basketball, arena football, and the NASCAR Busch Series, or go after the NHL deal.

Anything that means less ESPN/ABC I am in favor of. TNT coverage has been better than NBC as well.


Of course, we might not hear about the NBA Playoffs on Sportscenter, etc. next year if it's not on their network.

The Spurs and Pistons are the reason the NBA is unwatchable. We need more teams like Dallas and Phoenix. Back when the NBA was good, everyone scored 100 points. Now it is a big deal to score 100. There is no need for defense in the NBA, that's why we watch college basketball.

Treetista, that is the best post ever. I wish people would realize that NBA plays better defense than NCAA. NCAA players just turn the ball over more, more confused by zone defenses and with a longer shot clock, seem to pass the ball much longer because the "defense" is fucking them up.

The stupid floor slap that Duke players do (and many college players).....try that on Gilbert Arenas. He'll blow right by you.
