I have a 4X DVD+R, and a 2.88 GhZ Dell Desktop PC.


i want to upgrade to a better dvd burner, any suggestions?

just because i hate those large IDE cables...let me suggest a SATA drive if you have a free port

check http://www.slickdeals.net/ and http://www.bensbargains.net/ daily for deals...i don't think there's really a "bad" burner these days...the ones on sale on ben's bargains are usually lite-on or samsung (i think)...either would be fine...tend to be $35-40 after shipping

yeah I have to replace mine as well but only because my new dell doesn't have PATA ports, only SATA.

dont forget you'll need to buy faster media to burn to. I bought cheaper 4x DVDs so my 18x dvd burner is really overkill at the moment
