So PS 371 doesn't offer a lot of options... has anyone ever had Paynter for anything? It looks like he may have been a TA before for a PS lab, but Simons-Rudolph is supposed to be similar to torture...?

For the love of God stay away from Paynter. I had her last semester for her first semester ever teaching. She's terrible, had a break-down in class, and had random pop quizzes. Everything I've heard about Simons-Rudolph was great. Sharon gave tests (S-R did not), pop quizzes, and homework assignments. We sat and read from a power-point every day. We had to turn our computer screens off and watch her read the powerpoints because she would get upset if someone was typing/looking at their computer screen instead of her. Heck, she even got upset when was typing notes!

Simons-Rudolph was great. he doesn't take attendance, so it's more a work at your own pace class, with small checkpoints along the way. we got delayed a couple times due to webassign and he moved back due dates. the class topics are really boring (pretty much reciting the book reading you're supposed to do the night before) but he tries to make it better. you have the take this class and he's the better choice than crazy sounding lady up there^
also, most people in my class played games on their computers during lectures and he didn't seem to mind as long as you didn't ask him to repeat what he said.
